I hate team balance, it should lock you from joining stacked teams in the lobby, not kick you mid game...... Its annoying if you are on the winning team and it gets stacked because people join it when they first join the lobby yet youve been there all game and you lose the massive victory bonus you would get.

You get the bonus you would get as if you won the game when you got switched, but it still is less than your bonus would be if you were on the winning team to the very end of the game because between the time you are kicked and the time you would win the game, you would get more money and XP which would multiply to your win bonus

Yeah Thats what I mean. You get the full bonus as if you would have won at that point. After you still get a certain losing bonus when you play on the loosing team so the difference is really not all that high. Maybe 1-2K XP and Money. However we are working on new ways to balance the teams that should avoid this.

I've unlocked many weapons, including all the full LMGs, and I'm pretty sure the MXSW is my favorite for all the reasons mentioned. It's light, it's accurate with low recoil, high magazine capacity, and has quick reloads. It's lower damage than other weapons, sure, but it's versatility more than makes up for that. Throw an A/RCO optic and you're set for close or medium-long range engagements. With a bipod you can hold down a huge corridor and take out whole squads. 9.5/10 weapon.

Third person is why I play HC servers. You dont get to spot me without looking at me. Also hip fire is negated since you dont have a crosshair.

technically untrue, i don't need a crosshair to hip fire with decent accuracy.. in fact I unintentionally fire from the hip all the time when people sneak up on me, because its first person in HC servers its easier to fire without aiming, put the target in the center of the screen and unload your weapon lol. works well out to about 50m (depending on the gun).

Not really...You cant hip fire with the same accuracy on HC servers. If you are unintentionally firing then it was not your prefered way to fire. So you would prefer aiming. So any advantage gained on NON HC servers is lost on HC servers. Drewski quite clearly is using it as hit primary aim when moving.

the accuracy doesn't change with different servers mate, you point the gun, fire.. see where the bullets impact and adjust fire accordingly. doesn't matter whether it's hardcore or regular.. or even invade & annex, hip fire has the same fuckin accuracy any where you go lol.. just because you don't have a crosshair doesn't mean your gun has less accuracy.. it's not rocket science or anything point click adjust.. fire in bursts instead of full auto for better accuracy.. im only talking upto 50m max.. beyond 50m i'll use ironsights or optics, whichever I have available.. but out to 50m you're perfectly safe to hip fire, especially in tight situations house to house or room to room engagements. if you've played arma longer than 14 years, sure I'll shutup and take you're advice as you have more experience than i do; if not.. vice versa..

Im aware mate....But its that last part thats gonna get you killed. If you start shooting while not aiming you have to adjust. That may very well be the difference between winning and loosing a fire fight. And my point remains the same. No more spotting from total cover and no hard aiming reticle. Makes HC servers so much more fun.

A few snipers is useful if they know what they're doing. The ability to hit a target at over 1200m is a must. Situational awareness, willingness to designate, calling out groups of enemies, etc. Not ridgelining like every sniper in the game mode is a must. It also helps if it's a coordinated sniper team who has hundreds of ingame hours together. And the ability to shoot down a helo on occasion doesn't hurt.

Great guide. Couple of points. Every 40s the team with the most people in the zone will get 1 victory point. People who are in the towers count double for this. So the towers provide more than just the ability to over watch the surrounding areas. If you want to win, you want to clear enemies from towers and/or camp them your self. If you are camping a tower (or any other building really), you need to be super aware of clipping parts of your body/weapon thru the wall/floor. Usually you can tell if a tower is occupied or not, just from observing people clipping/desyncing, the classic being sticking the barrel of their weapon thru the wall, shortly before rising up to shoot thru a window. Knowing where enemies are is 90% of being able to kill them. If you are in a tower, and you are resting your weapon on window sills/barriers. You are asking to die. If you are going to shoot from a tower, do it whilst standing further back inside the room, and do not stay exposed for more than one shot as you will be easily visible to people all over the map. Personally I find close quarters combat more challenging on KOTH than any other mode. As you've mentioned FPS is generally poor, and I often get massive FPS lags when shit goes down. I'll pop around a corner, so will an enemy, your basic 50/50 who will shoot and hit first. I lose those a lot, as my game will hang in those fractions of a second between seeing them and aiming at them. Then I die. I do not suffer from this in most other game modes, and makes KOTH incredibly frustrating, and forcing me into a longer range role that is scared of close contact with anyone.

speaking of ghillie suits. Back when there was this great paintball field at Hurlburt field in florida, I was playing with some friends on one of the hottest days of the year. This kid decided he wanted to take his ghillie suit out and play in it. kind of a larger kid and was pounding back mountain dew. now keep in mind its like 98 degrees and 100% humidity. We get done playing a couple of games and I see a group of people struggling to drag this kid out of the forest. he straight up passed out.

A good sniper team can control the game especially on infantry only mode. If allowed to set up and the other team does not a have a counter sniper. That sniper can control anyone trying to get in those towers(such easy targets). Also don't forget you are very exposed rushing those stairs. Most vets will have a kill zone set up on a towers base or open area from a good defendable position 100-200 meters away. LMG set ups are best for defending those areas. good 3rd person tips drewski!

I find the best way to clear the towers is to nonstop rush, dont peek corners, dont take your time. Full blitzkrieg is the way cause no one ever suspects it and its usually easy to hear people coming up the tower and if they take their time u can prepare. If u rush they might be busy fighting someone on the ground and may not notice and ull catch them off gaurd or youll just have the advantage in ARMAs laggy system and usually youll see them and kill them before they can react

You can crouch walk/run up stairs. You need to walk sideways up them. As in by pressing A or D. Thats the fastest way to get up those stairs. Also you should have talked about how load outs work, and how its better to save up and perma buy and not just buy for one round.

So I'm just gonna throw the first burning torch: Towers aren't really that important. In fact the moment you walk into one, I'll probably be nearby - possibly somewhere near the most used path to it - and shoot you before you even get there so you'll have to start all over again. :) And the moment people find a tower that's occupied, they flush it. I seriously cash in A LOT on people camping the towers, and I love it when they do. The only good thing about it is that it's usually crowded so people don't have to respawn that much, but eventually they do. What's WAY more important is learning these three basic things: tactical awareness and good use of cover and concealment. For the latter it's very important to learn the additional stances. That way armor won't be as important either. I love using fully automatic weapons, but using silenced medium snipers *in the zone* is also extremely effective. It's also fun to use smaller weapons just for the challenge sometimes. Also third person is totally OP. Real men play first person only. ;)

guys,now you get a sniper reward, anything over 600 meters you get a bonus for 350 upwards, I think 1000xp for 1000 meter shots and upwards, so you can sit about 2k out and if you get about 5 kills its the equivalent of being in the zone for half of the match or a lot more, once you get about 5 2k shots, get up go back tot he base and head intot he zone with an assault rifle for 10/15 mins and you'll get that big bonus if your team wins.

The CAR 95-1 is a good choice for a starter gun as well, it sports better armor penetration than both 6.5 and 5.56 with lower recoil as well. IIRC it costs the same as an MX SW. $40,000. It's an Apex weapon, though. You'll probably get $40,000 before level 10, which is when you unlock the Katiba, which is the first non-perk required weapon you unlock that's worth a damn.

Edit a clip and you'll be considered a pro, anyways, here is a tip for all new players in KOTH, try to reach lvl 12 and buy the: .338 SPMG, also keep shadows in high because if you have it disabled, low or standard your CPU will overload and you suddenly will get FPS drops while fireing.

A couple tips from my experience. 1. Guns to use: MK20 / MK20c Extreme rate of fire, accurate AK-12 High rate of fire, high damage, accurate. Don't use any other guns. 2. Objective Gameplay: Don't sit outside the objective, don't snipe, you ARE NOT HELPING 3. Towers: Towers are like magnets, they draw in players. use that to your advantage, either camp the bottom of towers, or pulling overwatch on friendly towers, and telling them when an how many people are pushing up into their tower. If you are going to sit and stay in a tower, bring Ammo perk, Medic Perk, or Explosive Perk. Those 3 will keep you alive and increase your kills per game. 4. Play Aggressive: Sitting in towers taking pot-shots at enemy infantry is an ok tactic, but hardcore pushing the enemy, flanking their position, and keeping them distracted from the main objective is the best way to win. Even if you do not perfectly see an enemy, but you know their general direction, send a few rounds their way, keep them suppressed, It will make a difference. Avoid helicopter rides and parachuting. you give the enemy a perfect count of how many people they are going to need to kill, they know where you will be when you land, and it gives them multiple chances of shooting you down. use LSV's or Offroads to push into enemy territory, its chaotic and fast, and that works well against the enemy.

The reason why towers are such powerhouses isn't because of being able to snipe people from high ground. It's because the towers are not destructible, and bullets can't penetrate the material used in towers, and the towers only have two points of enterance. The stairwells below them or the roof. All you need to do to guard the stairs is hide near a door and shoot them as they come up. If they throw a grenade, you run back through the door and wait for the grenade to go off, then you return to the stairwell area and continue. For the roof, all you have to do is shoot them as they parachute onto it. If the enemy tries to land on it, since the little bird is the only one that can safely land on the roof, all you have to do is shoot the exposed pilot through the gigantic glass panes which are almost impossible to miss, and then the whole thing will either have a hard landing on the roof and likely injure most of the occupants onboard, or crash into the side of the tower. (Since the occupants do sometimes survive the heli crashes, all you have to do is camp the bottom stairwell. Boom, you have invincible fortresses that can't be damaged and are hard to defeat.

When you first start out, do you use the trg until you can permanently unlock the mx-sw or ak-12, or do you buy them each life until you can perm unlock? I keep using the trg until I can loot something better while saving to perm unlock what I want as my first step up.

The tower dead zone doesn't exist. You can shoot through the hole in the stair well.

i am a big wasteland player and the ghillie is the best clothing for combat but i still wear a vest i have killed tons of people using a ghillie suit hiding in bush its a cheap way to kill somone but its works but one thing you have to remember never lay in open grass at long ranges there is no grass so be in or behind a bush or maybe a rock but they will definetly see your bush like head behind a rock and if you are with in a bush and there are enemies near by lower your gun so they dont see it stickin out then shoot them in the back

You can clear left, just stance change the gun to your left
