Perhaps think about adding some sort of fixing strap or bracket for when the seats are lowered but not being sat on/used?

When you're bashing something like those metal frames on top of paintwork, you should first apply silicone grease/lubricant and also slip some thin-and-strong plastic between the surfaces to protect the paint and avoid a future corrosion point.

Absolutely. I stuck some foam pad on there to help protect the paint. Also having painting it in Raptor helped.

What do you do about seatbelt mounting? I am thinking about one side installation on my 2010 Defender 110 station wagon but will need at least one seatbelt (I really only need one extra seat to be occupied).

Have you looked into the legal side of adding seats? DVLA OK to add them to your V5?

It's a good point but in this instance the 110 already had rear bench seats.

I assume the installation is similar in a Defender 90...I have an early Basic TDCi with square rear wheel arches (not the curved ones for front facing seats)

Not strictly legal though

@@henryyandell3222 ironically yes, but it's not illegal to stay strapped in nylon to an aluminum frame in a plane...anyways, I was hoping there is a way to install benches or seats without drilling the rear tub
