As a "székely" (hungarian minority in Romania), I can confirm, that most of these dishes are quite common in eastern Europe. The only 100% romanian food is the "mititei" or "mici", meaning the little ones, which has an unmistakeable flavour. I travelled a lot in Europe, but I never ever tasted similar to those tiny mini-meats, and I missed them a lot, because they are tasty as hell 😂

You can have them in cabbage leaves, or in wine leaves, or even in other kind of leaves. But usually in restaurants you have the cabbage ones, I only had sarmale in vine leaves in a restaurant in a seaside resort.
