Yup, it's terrible evolution if you ask me, since generations of adaptations could have been used to prevent being eaten in the first place, instead creatures like the poison dart frog become obnoxiously poisonous which doesn't really matter since most of its predators will kill it before the poison kills them, alot of animals know that bright colors mean poison but alot of animals also have ways to bypass the poison entirely. Smarter animals take advantage of the frogs poor evolution though, like some chameleons that change to bright colours to have predators second guess, much more efficient if you ask me.

For your last note about the blue ringed octopus, I'm pretty sure the box jellyfish is worse. I remember multiple sources stating that a bad enough sting can kill an adult in just 90 seconds. The severity of the sting depends on how much of the tentacles touch you.

Both venom and poison are toxic/toxins. Venom is a kind of poison administered with bites or stings, so it is offensive while poisonous animals are those that emit toxins through feathers, skin etc., so poison works as defense in case a predator tries to eat the poisonous animal.

Very interesting! Though I am surprised you did not add the Lionfish. They are not poisonous, but they are highly venomous and inject their venom through their spines. Komodo Dragons have a venomous saliva that is enough to kill an animal and a human in a few hours.

I have an idea for like a cure for blue ringed octopus. Get prisoners that have done allot of crimes that nobody wants to have them around and get bitten (or sting?) by the blue ringed octopus and have medical teams nearby to extract the venom or toxin (which he still dies but whats better? Keeping a dangerous criminal for years to just sit in the prison or do something good at the end) so they can possibly get the antidote. And there you have it.
