I'm thrilled that Eric Wind reached out to collaborate on a video together. If you're not familiar with Eric, you might recognize him from Hodinkee's Reference Points series, which I still watch to brush up on my vintage Rolex knowledge. Check out his Instagram and explore extraordinary vintage watches at www.windvintage.com. Stay tuned for another upcoming video together!

Great video! I have the Rolex 16014 that was shown in the video at 7:02 with the white dial. I inherited it after my dad passed away in 1996. The watch had never been service, so I took it to the Rolex Service Center in Beverly Hills in 2022. And yes, I had the watch polished and it looks beautiful! Every time I look at the watch, I think of my dad.

Good information, thanks. Audio could be a little better. Having owned a Rolex mentioned here, what I didn’t really appreciate when I bought it was the cost of routine service. I don’t know what the experts here would say, but budget about a grand for a service when it’s needed.

Just bought an Air King 14000 before watching this video! Guess I picked a good watch! White Buckley dial, $4700 with box and papers, serviced. Might have overpaid but it's my first watch!

Many years ago I had a $100 brand new quartz Omega. It was accurate to within 1 second a year. Now all I will wear is a $45 dollar Expedition Timex. A lot of bang for the buck very accurate quartz movement. 445

5:01 how do you know if something is art deco? I’ve been hearing that a lot, and when I looked it up it was in reference to an interior design style from the 20s and 30s, so is it all subjective?
