Absolutely agree on Sandman being underrated especially when you consider the practical application of his powers and being able to enter an opponents body and cause damage or stop them from breathing.

He was terrifying in an old issue of The New Warriors, he was shown to be able to affect the water in someone's body, he literally forced all of the moisture out of a man where he looked mummified in seconds! After seeing that use of his power, he went from a "punchline villain" to a "holy $!#@" villain & don't forget he can merge with water,,,, Just now wondered if he ever "merged" with a person to control them,,,,
