Besides Longfield Garden, my next favorite cutting garden in the US I have visited is Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens. Highly recommend if you are near Akron Ohio. I believe I recall them saying that the floral designers there are auditioned. They’re impressive displays.

Thank you for sharing this garden which was just what I needed as my father passed at 97 two days ago. My son said mum do something so I watched this and it really brightened my day and made me focus on my garden for healing, and my beautiful Labrador. I am retired but have recently done a garden design course and studied arts and crafts garden design which this garden very much is. The Japanese style had a big influence on arts and crafts movement including garden design and so it’s obvious in the beautiful stream area where you picked up on this. It’s so cold here now Melbourne Australia so I am going to watch the others in your series It was also touching to hear about your grandma as I have been tending my parents garden , it’s a lovely connection to those departed.

@@susannewlove2115 thank you, yes it is, I spent a cold 12 degree Celsius today in the garden to just do something comforting and gave me time to be alone with memories , it was just the right thing to do. The lady doing the videos seems so kind and thoughtful in her comments.

My favorites were the tea house and the cottage garden with the stream flower path next. In spite of loving the tea house, I definitely prefer a less formal garden but it was all interesting. Many similarities to Longwood Gardens but on a smaller scale. Thank you for sharing it with us! 💖😊👍

this gives me bridgerton vibes!!!😍 i can just imagine the women dressed in beautiful dress with hats on sitting at that table in the croquet garden drinking tea or coffee and having a snack also i believe in the keyhole garden the plant in the pot on the right hand side was a red banana plant also known as the ensete maurelii red abyssinian banana tree. they are actually one of my favorite plants i have 8 of them... instead of the usual green foliage u see on a typical banana leaf plant these have the most beautiful red and even purple himt to the leaves and of course they get absolutely huge.. they can resemble cannas very much so both of which are beautiful. thankyou so much for this video i would love to visit these gardens they are quite wonderful

Danielle, THANKS for your arboretum tours. I love them. Beautiful early summer weather and light. Ladew Gardens is not the grandest of gardens but so beautiful, inspirational and refreshing to see. The topiaries are such high maintenance. These grounds are so much like the fine English gardens.

Thank you so much for a beautiful tour of this fabulous garden. I am sure you could spend weeks exploring it. I have to say your cutting garden is much better! If you are interested in sculpture topiary look up Levens Hall in the Lake District, England UK. Also a new small rose garden at Lowther Hall also in the Lake District. I am sure if you are interested in old gardens being rejuvenated you would enjoy their website. So agree with you about Nigel. We all adored him in the UK. Have a good week.

Such beautiful gardens. I am amazed at some like this that spend so much time and money for the beauty and upkeep, they really are worth people visiting and appreciating them. I love that little tea room too, would be a cute addition to any garden space!

Nice video. Very perceptive of you to observe that you would have been better off recording on a overcast day. I'm convinced that part of why English gardens have the mystique that they do is because of the low sun angles and weakness of the sunlight there...even if there are no clouds in the sky!
@NicolesGardenNS2 жыл бұрын
What a spectacular place! I think though, that those reddish tropicals are actually decorative Bananas (musa maurelli) and not Cannas in those tall pots. I have one and it’s just gorgeous! I have to bring it inside before any chance of frost, it is not as hardy as Musa Basjoo.

@Jennifer Tucker Good observation. I was there many years ago and was told they ARE chess pieces scattered about. Ladew was apparently a huge chess fan.
