Simo Hayha, 500+ kills using his own hunting rifle. Turned down a sniper rifle partly because he said the glass on the sights could give away his position. He used an open sight and could lay in the snow for very long periods without moving, he even put snow in his mouth to prevent his breath from showing in the cold air. He did get shot in the face at one point but survived and died of natural causes aged 96. The White Death. Legend!

Harrison's scope was only capable of going 26 mil (milliradians) vertical. He effectively calculated 49 mils! Using his 1,500 meter range .338 rifle, he actually had to aim his shot 398 feet above the Tali's head to hit him. Harrison figured out that by the time his bullet reached its target it was only traveling about 40 mph. The guy probably wouldn't have been killed if he had been wearing body armor.

That was taken at Weapons Battalion Quantico Virginia at his much overdue Silver Star ceremony. Gunny did it better than anyone and is the subject of at least two sniper movies.

I don't disagree, but would point out that the two men had very different missions. As you pointed out Hathcock was a man hunter in a jungle war. Kyle's job was overwatch in urban settings. Kyle protected his assigned men by watching for trouble from a rooftop. Hathcocks ability to actively hunt men down and out-stalk people born in the jungle was indeed incredable.

It appears, almost too clearly to doubt, that Kyle was recruited to defame Jesse Ventura (who exposed the FEMA camps, kill/re-educate/keep as-is lists, the millions of coffins FEMA has stored up, that Ron Paul donators go on a list as dangerous to the future, post-coup state, and etc.) Then, it became clear Kyle exaggerated many stories and seems to have completely prevaricated others (sniping looters from the top of a football dome during New Orleans flooding, e.g.) Then, a suit was filed by Ventura, to prove Kyle lied. Then, a man on meds (ALL mass killers in malls and schools have been on meds), shot him. Many believe he was an SRA super soldier, activated before the Black Awakening in order to kill Kyle before he exposed he had been recruited- something they (they = secret society satanists.) always do- kill off loose ends. They believed they could create a double-edged sword: vilify Ventura for suing a widow (actually untrue, the suit was defended by the Kyle’s insurance firm), or, if Ventura lost, they could say it was true. But, Jesse Ventura won, proved his innocence (all of the people who testified to support Kyle... their stories were inconsistent with things Kyle said and inconsistent with each other as well.) **** So, a great sniper, great soldier... but, with an asterisk.

He saw a glint and fired shooting through the 2 lense PU scope hitting NVA in the eye. I believe the shot was 600yds. Folks, that means Gunny was a breath faster or he was dead. Except for yardage of kill, these are facts that can be found in GunnyHathcock's Autobiography MARINE. Both rifles Gunny's M70 and the M53 are in the Marine Corp Museum. Carlos Hathcock was the number one sniper and always will be. Any reasonable shot can take out 500 targets at 1000 yards but is he brave enough to get within 100 yards of the target when there are 1000's of enemy all round him ? You should try it some day. @@dakotacaptain9759 it would be nice to think Canada has more to offer the world and to be proud of than just ONE MAN'S one-time killing of another human being over a long distance. Video games are no longer satisfying the dungeon dwelling slobs. Clearly actual war time killing of real human beings has become a popular spectator sport for those armchair heroes. Perhaps it should become an Olympic event.

Think we have all seen that part at 6:30 in movies where one sniper takes another sniper out through their scope. Could you imagine the heart palpitation the dead sniper would have had right when he noticed the end of a suppressed barrel aiming at his scope and the less than a second muzzle flash before he could react. Super sick way to go and they should give both snipers recognition for being the first known to do it. Had to have happened countless times but I would imagine vietnam being the first with Hathcock banging away but one never really knows the first of such a situation for absolutely sure. One things for sure, one hell of a wicked shot.

Craig Harrison has a book out, it's a great read. What's unusual about Harrison is that he's not an infantryman, he's from the Blues and Royals which is part of the Household Cavalry. It's fantastic for me that there's a lot of British soldiers in this list, further proof that British snipers are the most highly trained and in my opinion, the best in the World. 🇬🇧🇺🇸✌✌

@gooner722 жыл бұрын
@@daveyponderosa9549 errrrrrmmm.... simple fella, the Canadian snipers use a larger, more powerful rifle and ammunition. Jesus, don't you think things through before typing? If not, you really should do. It's all about conditions as well, the Canadian snipers could've also been in a safer, static location etc whilst our man was actually hidden on a hill and in direct contact with the enemy who were trying to find him. On another point........ notice that the lads with the record distance kills are all in the armed forces of the 5 i's .

Wonderful. But there was other snipers who should have been mentioned here. There are using modern weapons made for this purpose. But there was the finish soldier white death who didn't even use a scope, depending only on iron sights and rather antiquated weapon and his scores superseded them all.
