This again shows how much Spiderman holds back. He punched the Rhinos windshield and it barely cracked. Stops a bus from flipping, literally in the next scene. This version of Spiderman is incredibly well done: Then wit, the banter, the strength. A true successor to Tobey's Spiderman IMO.

I think Andrew Garfield’s version has the best use of webs. The way he uses them to tie bad guys up or weaves a net like in the times square scene, even his swinging is more of a controlled clamber when going up the clocktower, it feels really natural.

Except the whole cracking jokes as people are getting run over, killed in their cars and likely getting sandwiched between the car pile up. This is not Spider-Man. Instead of taking care of the Rhino quick and preventing the accidents in the first place, he plays with him, probably costing lives based on some of the damage we saw and then he doesn't immediately go back and check to make sure nobody needs his help from the chaos. He's not even concerned in the last shot as he walks away. * Compare this to Tom's Spider-Man, actual writers of the character, whose first question after he messes up is ... "Is everyone okay?" That's Spider-Man's responsibility talking. This is the character who ran through fire and grabbed hot steaming metal to pull the bad guy out of harm's way. * The character we see onscreen here is Spider-Pool.

He stops joking around when someone is in danger of being hurt or killed. The only times he jokes are around other superheroes or when he's the target of a villain. When he's the target and when no one else is in danger that's when he cracks jokes. The jokes are also for two reasons: 1) To make the villain so furious at him that they make mistakes. 2) Because he's incredibly nervous when fighting and it helps to calm his nerves. Remember, he's a nerdy kid from Queens.
