Oh yes they can. Even if it was inadmissible, he’s got way more relevant self snitching songs in his catalog. In my honest opinion “Murder on My Mind” would be a lot easier for the defense considering he not only has the aggressors side, but also the point of view of the victim in “Mind on My Murder” (which nobody seems to know about). They could use “Virtual (Blue Balenciagas)”, “223’s”, “Mind of Melvin” ( this is the most incriminating), “Slang That Iron” (another incriminating one)… Not to mention that in majority of his songs he uses his favorite round (.40), which is the same caliber used in the murders, and found in the vehicle. Lyrics used or not, there’s no way possible he beats this case. Melly has way too much evidence pointing at him…especially considering that his boy (co-defendant) is out on bond… The kid is soon to find out that his best friend he speaks highly about, is just another Snitch9 2.0 lol

Don’t quote me but I think he accidentally killed his best friend. I think his best friend snuck up on him and scared him and he accidentally shot him something like that. So when he’s says “he has murder on his mind” I take as he has that memory constantly on him mind on how he killed his friend. That's exactly right. Typically the blurs you see in music videos are to cover logos and/or faces, out of concern of getting sued. If you do not have permission to use someone's logo or likeness (i.e., their face), you could be subject to legal liability. However, there are exceptions when it comes to trademarks. The overly simplified way of explaining it, is if a trademark is being used in its intended way (such as on a shirt), then typically you can feature that trademark in your video. However, if wearing the trademark gives the impression you're sponsored by that company, and you're not, then you could run into issues. There are other potential issues that can come up as well, so that's why the best rule of thumb is to just blur out logos/trademarks you don't own.

Apparently the song was written and released way before the murders even occurred.. 18 months to be exact.. But its never okay to promote violence of any kind period.. so even if he didn't kill those boys, let this be a lesson to him and all the other rappers who do the same.. now hes looking at the death penalty rite now.. If there was legal action due to something like the chickens or whatever hanging back there, I'm thinking that the producer of the video would be the most liable, or the person who did the set? Just wondering how liable or associated a person would be for having or doing something in a video they didn't know was not legal. Especially with "ignorance of the law not being an excuse for not obeying the law" or however it goes. That is a minor but still major thing, kinda relatable to that whole Travis Scott thing. Guess it comes down to the contracts? What would be a legal way to protect yourself in a video or event if something like that happens? Most folks don't even have contracts for the back yard street "produced by my homie" type videos and I'm wondering how many folks get caught up in suits because of things that "would be cool/dope" but aren't legal, and with it being videoed they're just mounting evidence.... like all those idiots who did those vids of them beating randos on the street for no reason other than shouting out their block/ganggang crap.

Really good points about the other people on a production (cast/crew), and their potential liability. I will be sure to include an explanation about how that works in future music videos. The short answer is that everyone involved could have some potential liability. One way to avoid liability is to have contracts disclaiming liability (or, for example, contracts that require insurance be on the production, so if there is a lawsuit, the insurance pays the attorney's fees). Great comment.
