Wonderful! This fine video uploaded while I'm gearing up to head into the Cascades (Mt. Rainier) tomorrow. I love the Sequoia park. While the terrain there can be tuff, because of the huge trees, not much light gets down to the forest floor. So there isn't much ground cover, that you have to fight through. The trails there are well maintained to. Just be prepared for some really steep terrain. Good boots with ample ankle support is a must. Thanks Adam, have fun on your hike.

Never separate, it always seems to end badly. Seems they feel unwell, one is told to stay, then one or the other ends up being a 411. Really strange if found or not.

Of all unexplained mysteries, be it ghosts, Bigfoot, ufo's etc., for me none are as creepy and fear-inducing as these Missing 411 cases. I can't even necessarily put my finger on exactly why they are more creepy than the rest. Maybe because it could just as easily be me as anyone in these cases, maybe it's the seeming randomness of it, and maybe it's because there seems to be some unknown power and intelligence responsible for and behind these disappearances. Maybe all of the above.

I’ve gone off trail before near Sunset Rock and had a boulder flung through the air at me. Like a boulder nonhuman could lift and throw through the air. I immediately ran back to the trail and the main area but as I ran back I could hear rustling around me.

As far as I’m aware, Sequoia National park has a lot of easy to travel terrain…. Also a 5 year old walking a mile an hour seems possible. Even if bumpy terrain. Children are more likely to go in a single direction and many children have seemingly endless energy. That on top of being scared and having a constant flow of adrenaline could allow a 5 year old to walk 12 miles. How some differ and say 18 miles doesn’t even make sense. Most likely he walked totally straight, and while the search might’ve happened across mountainous terrain, he probably walked on relatively flat terrain because that definitely exists in that park. When this case is broken down, it’s really not that mind blowing. It’s still crazy but definitely in the realm of possibility. “Could he have been afraid?” Lost alone. In the wilderness. Yeah he was probably terrified and that’s why he dropped stuff. I love your content but this shouldn’t even be a question. He probably got lost because of an animal that he feared and then died from exposure

I don't find it strange people wander of off the trail. Sometimes it is to go pee or they see something, hear something and go to check it out. People underestimate distance and then can't find way back simply bc everything around is the same. There was this case of woman who went off the trail and was very short distance from it and never found way back walking in circles. However they found her deceased and even some msg written on the phone but there was no service. To me Phillip could feel better, ran out of water and maybe wanted to find some stream to refresh himself, not sure if some water was close or he might thought so. Then he overrated himself and couldn't find way back or blacked out and didn't hear his friend.

I feel like I'm always just popping my head in to offer rational explanations for irrational situations. I do genuinely believe in weird stuff I promise, I just also have a lot of knowledge of explanations for behaviors that I personally find interesting! In the case of the second story, him not feeling well could be a big indicator of why he wandered. Not feeling well, while most often benign, can also be a sign of something much worse. Fever, drops in blood sugae, dehydration, possible stroke or cardiovascular problems, all of these things can lead to shockingly sudden disorientation, hallucinations, and otherwise unclear thinking. They often lead people to act irrationally and move around. I have seen first hand how fast and scary this can happen, and it's always something I think about when I hear cases like that one. 🤔

Second story: Its possible he knew a unique advice in kidnappings. Your supposed to leave essentially a paper trail behind to help be founs even if your taken. Throw a sock , watch, etc in order to be more easily found. No way ti know for sure that was his intent but interesting nonetheless

Still in awe of the pictures recreated. I would love to contact the artist. I would love for him or her to do a drawing of my baby daughter Melissa I lost in my Eighth month of pregnancy. Of Melissa in a meadow of flowers. I could give them pics of my other two children and draw a resemblance between the two. I would so love that. I wasn't able to see her. Docs wouldn't let me and I decided not to have a funeral. So that visual would mean the world to me.😢🙏

If you like a good rabbit hole research the author Alexander H. Key, he has all but been erased from history. His books are of a strange nature. as a child growing up in the 70s his books and subsequent movies made by Disney were a staple of my childhood. It was rumored that as a child he had an encounter with something he could not understand nor identify but tried to convey within his writings. There was a forward in one of his books that tried to explain the motivation behind his books, a hint that at some point in his troubled life he had an encounter with something that he at a young age could not explain, that forward was only ever printed in the first addition copies of that book from the 60s after that it was never part of the new printings. the forward always led me to believe that what he encountered was of the nephilim persuasion. It is interesting to note, he was fascinated to the point of obsession with The Sequoia National Park and spent a lot of time there among the giant trees, those who knew him said he often sat amongst them as if he was waiting for someone or something. There was a biography written about his life by a close friend of his but it seems to (like his life) been erased from history. Back when Wikipedia first came online there was a full history of who he was his life his books the background of his books and the mention of his biography and the person who wrote it, now there is just a simple wiki about a few of his books the movies made from them and a brief and boring account of his life. Why do they want this man forgotten?

All bring a lot of refreshments with you at least so at least if you do end up getting lost you might have enough food and drink to get you by before you are found if you're found that is but it's always better to try to increase your chances of surviving in such areas

Assuming that one clip is the tree and area you can see it’s pretty open … trees being farther apart … so they should have been able to see him … unless he was hiding behind a tree but after so long he would have given up … my point being I dont think he wandered away on his own … unless the parents really weren’t paying attention for some time ….

Something about the 2nd story made no sense. Philip's brother left him behind so that he could hitchhike back to their car; so, why couldn't both of them hitchhike back? Why did it make sense for only one to make the ride?

I live 5 hours north of the sequoia forest and since I've lived in California I've heard stories of people disappearing threw the whole sierra mountains but what could it be, it's what Keeps me hesitant of taking my family to see the world's largest trees 🌳

"What would make someone leave the trail???" Oh c'mon, hikers love nature, there are several reasons people leave the trail. 4- they want solitude. 3- they want to take some photos. 2- a bird, deer or other animal caught their interest. And the number one reason why hikers leave the trail - they have to go pee or poo! Often times ppl leave the trail to go to the bathroom and they get disoriented and then lost. It happened to me once

they are all under-examined by the coroners, there've blunt traumas to the head and/or broken ribs. exposure\hypothermia is notoriously difficult to determine and must only be considered when other causes of d*ath are ruled out. bodies are left in the water because whatever was going to eat them later lacks canines to tear apart fresh meat, and meat marinates\decomposes faster in the water in any weather. for same reason eyes, tongues, cheeks and gums are often missing from the bodies: those are delicate, tender parts of body that can be consumed without canines. they are removed with sharp nails. "chupacabra" punctures for drinking blood in cattle m*tilation are made with same nails. think about what parts of cow are considered a delicacy to us humans: tongue, cheeks, for other cattle - genitals. same approach here

This is regarding Andrew. It's really weird how that kid traversed 18 miles in 24 hours. Most of this would have been a nighttime think of this how the fuck can a five-year-old kid walk that far in the dark?. There had to have been something amiss here. I can't understand why not one of these people. That is to sit and wait on their partner to come back. Did not grab a stick or something and sketch some kind of arrow or message on to the ground. If anything set up a bunch of Little Rock in a direction of a arrow or couple small words. Attempt to leave some type of notice. Which way, why or what you are doing OR did what you did. It's easy to scratch something in the dirt. Tent peg, big rock, spoon or your bootheel. I know! You start out on an expedition with a partner. You and that partner knows what the other one is thinking, feeling & most of all "doing" at all times. Relieving yourself, going to admire this view. Practically! Act like one. Like: you right and he is the left side of everything that is going on in your surroundings. If not! Point blank... Be as you are! When you know someone's coming back for you and you're going to leave. YOU NEVER LEAVE ANYONE WORRIED AND SCARED. LIKE WTF... You let THEM know. By just being respectful OR courtesy. You don't leave no one's in the dark. Until that expedition is over. P. S. HAVE TO START SAYING. If you leave this spot. Leave me a message. { You would leave a message. Under the same circumstances back at the house } "What's the big difference in the woods?". NOW If they don't. Then you know; they had no time. You know!!! It's bad. Must be a bear, mountain lion or bigfoot. At least... You know; some what of something. That's a lot better than. WTF. Not one! that was supposed to stay put... Left any type of message. For the one they knew that was coming back for them. Why does it seem like! Everybody loses their morals. Out in the wilderness..

I understand he felt unwell but I can't imagine leaving someone alone for 5+ hours in an area like that. I think if you've already been on a multiple day hike, you'd just unpack your things and take a rest together and then try again later or the next day. If you have experience with hiking then you'd know to sit tight or stay together. I'm so confused why they made the choice to separate for that long to begin with.

I don't consider the five year-old traveling three (or six) miles in roughly 24 hours to be unusual or mysterious. It's easy for an adult to walk three miles in less than an hour over flat ground. Take that rate and allow three or four times as long due to the rough terrain. Children are smaller and lighter, yet strong for their size, especially if they are active. The kid may have actually had an easier time traversing the terrain than an adult would. At any rate, three miles in 24 hours is nothing, even over rough terrain. Six miles in the same time interval isn't much harder, even allowing for the fact that it was a little kid.

Friend of mine lived in that area and I asked him about the missing people. He said in a lot of the adult cases, they go missing on purpose. That area is also a marijuana farming area and some end up working on the growing farms and don’t want family to know. Or they’ve wandered into an illegal grow operation and those people will protect their plants at any cost.

If the round trip to pick up the car and get Philip was going to take 5 hours, and Philip was left at the trail head close to the road, why didn't they just both hitchhike and ride back together? That decision to leave him at the trailhead is sketchy as fuck.

Something I don't get these dogs should've been able track that kid especially if he was in that exact spot when he disappeared the only way they wouldntve if he wasn't there or was taken and I find that hard to believe he went that far he would've had to have ran full tilt to get that far n not be tired and I can't see that happening

How are those dogs gonna find anyone they are all running in a pack they should have spread out not run all together. He's lucky I live in a heavily wooded area lots of redwoods all over but lots of deep holes and hidden creeks all over,my grandmother used to warn me not to walk around with out someone with me or at least leave a note so people would know where I went.she said there's deep holes and I could fall in one and no one would ever know where I was.now I walk down there and I don't get phone service the farther I go but I'm wary of my surroundings, I take flares a whistle I take extra gear even it's only a quarter of a mile from my yard.
