It’s not the Chinese company’s fault that bow and release manufacturers don’t patent a lot of their stuff like they used to. I think a lot of release manufacturers are exaggerating the “made in USA” claims when in reality they’ve had the Chinese company Machine the parts and it’s assembled here in the US and because of that these companies take the CAD (computer aided designs) and just make their own knockoffs.

Steve seems like an awesome guy. I wish I had someone like him in my neck of the woods with a bow shop. Class act, really good stuff. I watch his videos all the time. Just seems like an all around great person. Keep up the good work mate.

I bought one of these and immediately took it apart. It looks reasonably well made and definitely a solid design. I sanded all the sears, oiled it. Sanded the release latch, and tried it out. It's great!! Super reliable, very crisp! Of all the parts, the latch needed the most work. I've seen some people say they tear up their releases and I can see that happening if they were any worse than mine. A little sanding tho and it was like butter. For me at least, totally worth the hr of sanding/oiling to save $350 CAD. In most cases the reason china has these designs is not because they "copied" them, but because they were handed them by US companies to make their products.

The $350 & some even $400 + price tag of big name release aids is completely unaffordable for many archers. About time a reasonable quality alternative surfaced. Having seen these, they certainly have a market.

biggest rip off in archery ! Ive gotten super quality releases for under 30 bucks from china . The mark up American companies have put on these releases is criminal ! im all for buying American but not when they are selling something that costs 14 dollar to make for $300 + dollars !
@justinvzu01
@justinvzu01 3 жыл бұрын
@@jesusoftheapes You're forgetting they need to cover design costs and other costs involved, like machines, the factories etc. That being said $300 is a little much. I currently shoot a Tru Fire Synapse trigger release, and I can tell you that it's noticeably meh quality. It cost me €200 instead of €300 for a blade, and it's already starting to rust, the jaw has a lot of wiggle room, the clip doesn't automatically close when clocking etc. I'm definitely getting a Blade at some point, just because I know they are the absolute best quality. Even if you can't afford a blade, second hand is still an option.

@@justinvzu01 I bought every taiwanese brand release i could find that were made with the same materials as the best companies in the business and found some really wild and different release designs and I bought 5 for the cost of one of those things . My favorite four finger release wilt a center ring through finger design. cost $36 dollars and it's every bit as quality as some of the Carters I have owned . Other countries who are also into archery products make nice stuff sometimes .

@@justinvzu01 Some of them are better some are toys and some are middle of the road . I went down that rabbit hole and came out with the best release I have ever owned . There are always trash version but the difference in material cost is minor between crap and good so even a lot of the cheaps use really high end aluminum and sophisticated trigger systems .

put tension on the claw so it is getting pulled on a tad and the thumb trigger loosens up fast and with a bit of file work you can make this thing as precise as any release aid trigger on the market .

just bought this aid based on this video. its crazy how light you can get it. replaced the spring and set the tension screw just hard enough for the caliper to lock closed. for me it was so light you could almoast shake it hard to make it go off. thightened 2 turns past that and now its perfect for me

I've got mine a week ago and I find it excelent. I can adjust sensetivity and release to the point where the scale can't detect any weight on the trigger while shooting. You can shoot it with just a gentle touch. Maybe it is a upgrated version? Idon't know. It cost me US $67 with all transport and import taxes. Thank you Steven!

I have the release can make it extremely soft. The screw by the locking button screw it 1 thread in. Use the locking screw and lock that in. Next move up by the thump release the larger screw lightens the release.

Archery Supplies mines done well got it for £200 new didnt want to swap to compound but due to shoulder injury cudnt continue with recuve +i wasnt very good. in the 1st 3 months it with ive obtained 1st class and beat a couple of the prevail boys with it. Of all the bows in a similar price range i got best groups with that. Saying that it does have some downfalls like crappy string and slow speed lol at least its kept me in the sport and seeing as ive done well with it ill be sticking to compound and toying with cery light recurve. Again love ur reviews and thanks for the reply

I’m shooting Topoint PT-414. Pistol grip, trigger release aid. I wouldn’t shoot anything else. It’s perfect for hunting. It does target well. You can only refine a product so much and after a certain stage it becomes pointless to machine it, tune it, polish it further. Getting used to your release aid is far more important than paying a zillion bucks for the best of the best. What I’m saying is that after a certain price, you can’t benifit from it.

Probably is a decent product but they don't normally use good quality steel internals. The load bearing components need to go through a heat treatment process to make them harder which will reduce wear. This is why cheaper ones don't last long. False economy unless your not planning on using it much I guess.

I love the American mantra, "don't buy Chinese", then the manufactures shop down the cheapest factory to make their product. But as a consumer, we are not allowed to shop the best price, quality aside. Some things are like jeans, takes 10 pairs and only one pair will be your favorite. I'm wanting to try a GOAT, but I would have nothing to compare it to so it would be the best. I thought my Mathew's was the bee's knees until I tried a Prime and then a PSE. There is nothing wrong with the Chinese stirring up the pot. I get the whole copyright concept, it works, but really it does't. For the record I don't typically buy anything from China, But I will defend your right to do so if that is your cup of tea.

Granted...cheap-made Chinese products may not be as near good as those original, but it gives those who can’t afford the high price tag a choice. And that’s why such company as topoint exists.

Use a test string, tied to something solid. That way no punching yourself in the face or launching arrows over the fence. Ask me how I know. Also, I can’t understand how the American release aid cost more than a good quality Bow from China. How do they justify that?

I've got this release aid in my bow bag for emergencies. It's dog shit. The distance screw in the back does not hold still between ends. It slowly works itself in, making the release become more and more mushy, until eventually the jaws can't close due to it being too loose.

@ArcherySuppliesLonsdale
@ArcherySuppliesLonsdale 6 жыл бұрын
It all depends on your budget. If you only have $80 for a sight and scope then you have no alternative. But if you cam afford more the sights and scopes get bettee. My sight is600 my scope is 300. So even if you buy a scope and sight for 200 it is not as good as 900.
