For me as a TML fan I hope they can go after Vatrano from ANA. He would be the perfect addition, physical forward that had 60 points last season. ANA might be interested in Robertson or Liljegren who I think are both on the way out at some point.

@@Ferg13If they name the Atlanta team the Atlanta Phoenixes it would cover all the bases. A phoenix is a bird (Thrashers) that returns to life from its ashes (Flames) and, if they’re lucky, Bettman will confuse them with Arizona and try to keep them from moving doubly hard. And, while Bettman is distracted, Quebec can sneak in the back door and join the league.

Hamilton, Ontario is a BETTER spot for a franchise over Atlanta. eff that.! it's already FAILED TWICE there....why bother??. The entire horseshoe region would pack a bldg in Hamilton nightly .

Uhm because Hamilton Ontario doesn't strike anyone as a big enough city to warrant professional hockey. Added to that it doesn't have the BIG corporate sponsorship Atlanta has or Houston or most large cities in America that still don't have hockey teams that should have them.

Packing an arena full of fans isn't enough to warrant having a team in a city. Team ownership makes way way more money on corporate deals sponsorships and advertising then they do ticket sales. It's kind of a sad reality but it is what it is. I don't care if I see Hamilton or Quebec city get hockey. I'm not Canadian I'm American so I don't give a damn.

Why isn't PAUL HENDERSON in the Hockey Hall of Fame? He saved the NHL's ass in 1972, with his 3 game-winning goals against the Russians. He's in the International one, but what is keeping him out of the Hall of Fame? Doesn't make sense.

If some other team had Marner and fans heard he was available, show me one single team who wouldn't pull their goalie in public to try and acquire him? I think Mitch has done some serious thinking and hard training in the off season, and reports say he's put on some muscle and Berube will get every last drop of Marner's talent out of him and combined wit the the fact he let it be known publicly he wasn't happy with the way former coaching staff kept him out of so many games as well not being given a legitimate fair shake working, developing on offensive lines, and also being cheated out of top 6 minutes. When all these issues are taken under consideration, he felt his disappointing point totals overshadowed and hindered his development at the NHL level. The kid has legitimate beefs and as much as I liked Keef, he was too cautious and didn't trust rookies/younger talent to get important minutes on top 6 lines, which Robertson feels hurt his value, and I, for one, agree with the youngster! Why bring him up just to fear letting him work out his game at the very highest pinnacle which is exactly where NHL super-mega-elite young talent grows in leaps and bounds or get anxious and shot the bed. if it's 4 teams to 36 total the question 2 expansion drafts or will the NHL have just one expansion team pick it's team over so many years . if its 2 teams total will it be over like 4 years and if 4 teams maybe over 8 yrs . when they expand i want to see how they handle the expansion for each team . the Predators where first then Thrashers then the Wild & Blue Jackets came in the league together . later Vegas got a team you knew a second team will come we got Seattle this why i think going forward we will get one team at a team and both Houston and Atlanta could play some where else why their Arena's are finished . Houston is said to maybe play where the Rockets play with upgrades so maybe they are first . Atlanta needs a new Arena you think the league would them play in a different Arena tell their is built and that will take longer . can't wait to hear how expansion is going happen and work

What if they do a sign&trade for 8-year extension and send him to Colombus in exchange for: 2025 1st round (top 10 protected - if protected, flips to 2026 first round pick) + 2025 3rd&4th round picks (CBJ currently) has no 2nd rd pick in 2025 + Prospect. But not 1st round prospect. A player like Luca Pinella that was selected mid draft (rd3- rd5), that was productive last season and has “potential” to make a jump to the NHL in the near future. Toronto gets a prospect and cap space and draft capital they can use to get w/e they need at the deadline. Columbus gets above the salary floor, and acquires talent to replace some of the production they lost in Laine and Gaudreau. Marner goes to a market with less pressure, gets his big payday, and can be a leader in that lockerroom

Unfortunately marner plays a kind of game that just isn't suited for playoff hockey. I have heard rumors about him being whiney and whatnot cause the other teams players are hitting him constantly and kind of bullying him. Well toughen up hit em hack idk. But he just isn't built like that. He isn't a tough kid and that goes all the way back to probably his childhood. Some people aren't tough from the start and that just is what it is. Matthew's mat very well be the same kind of person. Just isn't that tough. Both are immensely skilled players. Without marner Matthew's scoring will very likely drop. And without Matthew's then marner's points will drop. Idk what would be the answer to that other than do whatever you can to try to pry a player such as Brady Tkachuk out of Ottawa ( not gonna happen ) or nazim kadri back. He isn't the same player he was but what he is still is a player that's a pain in the ass to play against. Which is what that mean needs to be successful.

Pretty sure they aren’t “my rumours” , I just discuss and analyze what is being reported. Also tons of rumours I’ve discussed over the years have happened. When players are available for trade they often get linked to several teams because there are often times tons of interest. Clearly you haven’t really followed along closely or for long and that’s ok. But please don’t be leaving comments like this which clearly aren’t true.
