2nd time I used it the connector pulled out from the digital display leaving it useless. The smart protect won't let you jump a fully dead battery till you bring it within certain range it thinks it's shorted.

2 years old and only used once and mine is now totally dead. Won’t take a charge, power button won’t respond, and if you plug in the clamps a time starts screaming

I bought 2 of these for my and my wife’s cars. Neither one would jump start my avalanche. Worthless and gave me to my kids to use as power banks. Had to go out and buy new ones of a different brand.

Strange that neither unit worked for you. Did you try on any other vehicles or was it specifically the Avalanche? I've jumped a couple work trucks with the same Vortec engine used the Avalanche without any issue.

@@MetaphysicalEngineer the battery was completely drained. The new one I bought has the boost button and it started right up because of it.

Useful info! Thanks for sharing. That's a condition I haven't tested yet where the battery was deader than dead.

How do you keep the 12 volt utility port working past 10 seconds?
@MetaphysicalEngineer5 ай бұрын
There's likely a minimum load where it will shut down to save power if it doesn't detect enough current. Or in case of overload it will also likely cut off to prevent damage. As shown it ran the compressor until the pressure satisfied the controller, but I didn't get a chance to test behavior at low load, such as with a phone USB charger plugged into the 12V socket.

Just to be clear, this is not a charger, it's a jumper. Supplies enough power so the starter can turn the engine over and start the car. Then the engine can charge the battery.

Awesome Awesome jump starter has saved us no exaggeration a dozen times unfortunately you can't fund them anymore.

Another comment mentioned that recently. Too bad; these were decent units. I plan to get a another jumper pack to review sometime.

loved mine until someone gave it a five finger discount. ended up buying a noco boost GB70 2000A as the topvision was no longer available (fly by night brand). let me tell ya, its more expensive sure but the quality difference in leads and spring strength is well worth it. Never had a bad connection with the noco compared to the topvision. That and I've never met an engine it couldn't power. jumped my completely dead audi rs5 9 times in a row without charging, battery only dropped to 92% 4.2L v8 sure its not the largest engine but the topvision was usually at 50% by then. the noco also lets you bypass the protections letting you jump a vehicle without a battery at all. Buy once cry once fellas.

Sorry to hear yours got swiped... ironically enough, so did mine! Frickin scumbags! GB70 looks pretty cool, and that's some impressive performance. I'll look into one of those, possibly for another review, since I've not yet replaced the stolen Topvision. Buy once cry once is a good way to put it.
