Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit kzbin.infoUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.

I might be kind of bias, but being a fisherman from Jax we do have huge Speckled Trout. I’m 50 years old and caught a 11 1/2 pounder when I was about 25. Lot of nice ones since then.

Cool seeing you fish near my old haunts. I was wade fishing Nassau Sound before jet skis and kayaks became popular. My best catch was a red as long as my leg on a 10" mullet. I hope to take my kayak there this fall with my cast net and the salt strong baits I'm hoarding. Thanks for the offer of free plugs, I need to use what I got first. Check out Cumberland Island Ga north of Jax if you can.

I used to get frustrated with how many fish you let slip out of your hands. Now I realized how careful you are handling the fish and that’s why some slip away. Thanks for being careful by not squeezing hard and changing my perspective.

The only thing about the slam shady lures is that they melt and stick to each other and then they are ruined! Keep them in a cool place and not in the heat or the sun. So I stick with slayer and z man lures. But I love a good top water bite! Especially a slot red!

@@ifarted1212 I still go every now and then but just ab an hr before they close. Usually a good time to go and catch the sunset. I've just never seen or caught anything decent size. Biggest is 18 inch red. And those crabbers don't care what day it is. What you could do is go on Google maps and go north to Mayport rd and look just to the left. Not saying much more than that but you can figure it out. Good luck fishing!
