One of my favorite quotes was his passing observation on coffee shop culture: "Go to Starbucks, and nobody’s really enjoying their coffee-they’re all typing. They’re texting…." One could extrapolate that part of the challenge to creativity is that we're rarely present and focused in a single moment. Also an inspiring quote from the client that "You can't work on my business if you're afraid to make heroic failures." If more businesspeople had that attitude, there would be a lot more great advertising out there!

Very interesting and informative. One issue is that too many employers KILL the creativity in their employees. They always seem to think they know the answer when in truth, they are do not and are just being pompous and arrogant due to their postition.

This is not creativity, this is superficiality with no vision. Playing like kids with no deep understanding of life, leads to talk about ideas apart from means of production... is it not a problem that USA doesn't produce anything anymore, just ideas? Isn't that diesel commercial creating a knew form of dualism in society... maybe bullying behaviors. I believe all he says is right at some point, but not all ideas are acceptable.
