A fun fact, in Denmark not too long ago, some kids did not want to do a test that required internet connection. So they bought a DDOS attack for estimated 5 euros to shut down their school, what they did not know was the fact that 20 other school or so was connect to the same network, so the attack ended up shutting down internet for over 3000 computers. A whole region

I think the reason why haystack didn't work was because JS is disabled. You can see it wasn't loading a new page, but just blanking out. Which seems to be JS not working properly as we disabled it.

virgin javascript chad html + css honestly if you're making a search engine for onionland with javascript, that showed you're either a noob oniondev or incompetent. always go with the assumption that JS is off for most users.

Hi John, thank you for creating this series initiative, I am looking forward to continuing this "artistic" "scientific" and "educational" journey through this intriguing inter-web of vacuous wayward virtualization of node technology and multi-layer encryption and the collective paranoia contradictory to the anonymity offered by the onion router network. I am interested in what the bad guys are up t and have to know more!. It would be very helpful if you could please give some guidance about how to set up proxies in the Tails browser as well as maybe setting up a VPN in the cloud. I could probably do it but I don't fully understand the effect of the process, i.e. how things work and why, I would rather get it right, first time, which needs to come from someone with experience, that person is you John! Also I'm curious about the network tools in Tails,, setting up a proxy or VPN in Virtual Box itself is another dream! I hope you can cover some of this in future documentaries! Thank you :)

Love this series; love your enthusiasm - and the "grain of salt" gestures & expressions you make THROUGHOUT!! - I would like you to explore something along the lines of: "See if your info is already on this version of the web." .....that's right, I did not use "Dark" "Deep" "Hidden".....based on the ads / sidebars it would more aptly be called "90s Web" or "Web v1" ;p

@@mjohnson116 I wouldn't call it a dark path. I've always been interested in security since a kid. I once got phished when I was young and I got obsessed with understanding how it was done. That led me down the path of understanding hacking. Now I study computer science with a focus on Information security.

So that way traces or logs of your session cannot be stored whatsoever. As when you shut down tails, it wipes everything ready for the next session

Looking forward for this. Do you recommend using a proxy AND a VPN before opening Tor ?
@pajamac553 жыл бұрын
Some people do it with their own VPN (they pay for it == they control it). By using a third party VPN you expose yourself to possible attacks by the VPN which if operates in US will gladly help feds attack you if you are a worthy target. Dont do it if you dont own the VPN (preferably one paid with xmr)...
