Wow, John, you really cracked it with the Light, lovely atmospheric moody shots. Your choice of etherial Celtic music worked a treat with the lovely Sunlit Misty Light.

Amazing! You transported me to another world, just so stunning. The atmosphere was brilliant starting with the crows on top of the castle, the blue pool and stunning shots of the suns ray through that haunting woodland. I loved all the images and I think this goes down as my favourite video.

Stumpy tree really nice (also addition of crows cawing & Celtic music). Blue pool image 1 of a kind especially your 2nd with lime green leaves adding to the palate. Castle ~ shame about the rubbish at the base of the castle ruins 🥱 Really liked the shot of suns rays streaming through winter leafless trees.

spectacular images there John, WOW, each time I watch your videos I just end up piling up more places to visit when I come home to Caledonia I LOVED the blue pool, though that bit of me that is OCD wishes the branches were not in the water "spoiling" your photos Wonderful WONDERFUL shots all round

Fantastic location! You are lucky you have those stone walls everywhere! Always al leading line. I think a saw a flare in one picture (17:08) and a water bottle in de tree (by the pool) in another?

A great day to be there. I'm a sucker for shots of rays of light through trees. Nice that you don't hear cries anymore by photographers who've just discovered histographs of 'You've burnt that out'; to which I usually reply 'Go stare at the Sun for five minutes'. I used to drive past Torwood about once a month. I caught the castle on a really misty day a couple of years ago, just blurry blocks of dark against blank whiteness. When it was between owners I managed to get right to the top and across the roof of the tower then worked my way down and through. The kitchens looked like they hadn't been touched since the C16th, straight out of an Edgar Allan Poe story with meat hooks hanging from the rafters. I've also got a 'ghost' picture from the undercroft, that in truth I can't explain. I'll send you a few shots. Looks like the guy who's been working on it wasn't there when you arrived. Unless he's got multiple millions to spare I can't see it becoming a viable home. No idea that the blue pool existed. I'll take a walk up to it the next time I'm passing (still no wheels).

It's quite a place! I was there a few days earlier for the first time ever and the guy who's working on the castle, Gary, gave us an unexpected tour of the interior, together with some strange stories from his time there. We had originally just popped along while doing some William Wallace research and had no idea the castle was occupied or being worked on! Would be interested to see the "ghost" pic and he was telling us there have been a lot of odd sightings at the castle over the years. I was there very early on a Sunday morning so I suspect he was still asleep inside when I was there. (there's a whole cut-section from the video where I explain why I was whispering in the area!)
@iainmc985911 ай бұрын
Its not really a 'ghost' picture, more of a likely double exposure on a digital camera that doesn't do double exposures. Maybe I had it on a long exposure and the flash went off at the end whilst I was moving the camera, its just that the bright stuff and the dark stuff doesn't tally at all. From that day to this I can't explain the shot. Looks like PC managed to get to DP without us from this morning uploads.@@JohnMcKennaPhotography

Hey John..sorry bothering you..I viewed your vlog here and I am planning to visit tomorrow as it is just local to myself, but never been. Can you give me any help in direction to make sure I find the pool and mainly best place to get parked and the entry point. Appreciated. Jacqueline S
@JohnMcKennaPhotography9 ай бұрын
Hi Jacqueline. Sorry i just noticed this message. I parked in Glen Road, Torwood then walked the road / path up the hill to the castle. Once at the gate to the castle, take a right and continue til you reach the end of the field. I took the path that ran alongside the field between the woods and the field. When you reach the gap in the trees for the electricity pylons you've arrived!
