I was 18 yrs old in 1992 - a college student at Buffalo State - I saw TA play - kicking off her Little Earthquakes album - it was just a little state college campus theater - no more than 500 seats. She blew everyone away - I remember you could hear a pin drop in that theater - people just stared in awe. I was lucky enough to see her again in Chicago this year. NO ONE writes like her - I decided this when I heard "Cus me and Charles Manson like the same ice cream." Talent like this is rare - I don't see it at the Grammys or even on MTV anymore.

I feel this. Tori in 1992 playing small rooms was sacramental, in hindsight an incredible privilege.

5 years later I read this comment and it reverberated. I am from Binghamton and was in music school in Fredonia NY, just south of Buffalo! I saw Tori @ 1990 in Elmira NY at a really small place and it was exactly as you described...pin drop silence until the song was over and then crazy cheers...I have seen 100s of shows but that moment sticks out so perfectly...

It is very rare occassion when HDTV was used in Europe. At that time the Japanese NHK broadcasted in HDTV for 6 years. Montreux festival should make public all their precious recording like these.

If ever an alien race asks you "what is sex?". This. This is sex. In its purest form. This is life. Art. Pure unaltered art. You show them this. And if someone, ANYONE asks you "what is the point of life?", you show them this too.

Pretty sure HD was available in '92 but it was very expensive and only used by professionals. This is obviously a recording for broadcast, which is why it is so good. It was not recorded on film - it's 1992, not 1952.
@Antanix6 жыл бұрын
Bought a bootleg CD in 1995 and the audio quality was pretty the same - very high. That '92 show was recorded professionally, both audio and video.
@karmafire2312 жыл бұрын
Must've been expensive to film this all in 35mm (or 65?) back then. Fuck it looks like someone blackholed to the past with an HD cam. I cannot believe how clear this is.

No, of course not, but the video from an analogue camcorder can easily be converted into HD, because it has more pixel than a digital camcorder.
