she is the most talented singers that we have, and to do a cover like this is freaking insane!! damn.. love her.

Tori, you've made my flesh creep, you produced a mind-numbingly passionate version of my favourite heavy-metalic evergreen of all times. I'm sure Robert was speechless, too Bravoooooo !!!!!
@Ring0fSaturn7 жыл бұрын
Oh, Tori, you are so great. The sacrilegious lead in is perfect and you bring a whole new appreciation to this classic piece. I believe Robert would agree. Maybe not Jimmy, but, hey -- you can't have everything.
@PreciousEarthquakes216 жыл бұрын
I agree. As she has aged, so has her voice, but even though the range isn't so much there, the power of her voice and her emotion still remains constant. She will always deliver!!!

A one-of-a-kind artist truly making a song her own. Tori Amos is not derivative of any other performer on the planet.

I wish we had smart phones back in the early days bc you couldn’t get away with carrying a video camera and holding it up to record. Was this taped by Toti’s people or some brave person in the audience? It wasn't worth the risk of getting thrown out and missing the show!!!! I went to see sooooo many shows when I was young and wish I had videos of some of them. I saw her play once in 1991 and became instantly obsessed. I saved most of my tickets and have 10 tickets from the LE tour, 15 from the UtP tour and 20 from Pele when me and a couple of friends just decided to follow her around the country. The internet is so awesome bc even though they’re not my recordings they take me back to the glory days and some of the best memories of my life. She spoke to the audience so much more in those days and we got to hear so many hilarious backstories to the songs. Thanks to all who take the time to post these and thanks to whoever recorded them!!!!!!! The B-Sides from LE and UtP are some of my favorites because back in the day it was truly difficult to find the overseas singles and to collect them all and it was so exciting to get a package from the UK or Europe and get to hear them for the first time. Now you can just go to I tunes or buy anything you want over the internet whichbos convenient, but not ascexcitingbor special.

She's still amazing. She's just matured & looks at life differently. Life & music is about evolution & constantly challenging yourself. She's still very dynamic in performance. She's also working on a opera I heard & just released her 2nd album on a Classical Label. She rebelled against Classical music as a kid. Now that she's older & music isn't what it used to be (have u turned on the top 40 radio stations lately) she turned to classical music & she's incredible.

I love this song. This was in the beginning of her career. SHE sings and playes the piano professional. The lights surrounding makes a very harmonic light towards the piano and the audience. I would like to put two white roses with natural vage pink color on her piano when she playes this. Making the scene perfectly beautiful.

.... I think some of her new stuff are great, I love Code Red, Smokey Joe, Lady In Blue if we're talking about the MOST recent stuff (before the obvious change of appearence). Scarlets Walk is a masterpiece IMO. I agree that her early work is a lot better and magical than her new stuff but I won't say she's lost her spark at all. She is just in another place in her life. Like Boys For Pele, she wrote that with a lot of anger and sorrow and she doesn't have a lot of those feelings anymore.

nope, i have a friend who's lesbian, but that's beside the point another line, "i'm gonna give you every inch of my love" all the boyish rock n roll innuendos just vanish when sung by a woman. i like Deaddaisy13's idea though. it almost makes the song deep and poetic.

She is brilliant in another way now. I love Tori now and then! But sure, during her early career it was more.. magic! She is still a goddess! This is more girly, now she's a mother and in another place in her life. That's why she can't write about the things she used to etc etc. @ Aristocratic : Wasn't Tori vulgar BEFORE? The talk about passion, fucking, love, private parts, masturbation. Or what do you mean?

Well, i don't know where you're from but singers don't usually go on T.V, and explain intimate details of what they do in bed with their partners. She was in sort of a relationship with beanie (sp?) i was trying to justify why she's fit to sing that song. (not that a straight woman wouldn't be able to give a man "every inch of her love"). you just have to think outside the box a bit.
@KeVRocK66816 жыл бұрын
it was about typical cathloc church where they hyms are aincent and noone can relate to them, thus why a lot of other relegions within christianity have updaded thier music ...same message better messenger for the times...i don't know her relegious views but she does have a point about cathloc church hymes being un-attractive to the modern ear

I have not said anything derogatory see the zero.Sorry you find the need to lash out.Tori Amos is very good.This performance is not. peace.

The sixty-four thousand dollar question of You Tube... Why do people come to watch stuff they hate? Are they masochists? Are they trolls, living under bridges (AKA their parents' basements ;->). I'll let Tori speak for herself here - from the B-Side "Take To The Sky" - "If you don't like me just a little well/why do you hang around?" I mean... really. Who sits and watches stuff they don't like all day? It's so sad.

this girl's really talented. good cover (coming from another led zeppelin fan). the lyrics kinda don't mean much when sung by a woman though ("way down inside, honey you need it" for example), but what an awesome singing voice.
