How any one can think that changing leader will do anything other than enrage the electorate at this stage, is quite simply thick as mince. The damage this government with all its leaders, has caused is so undeniable now, the Tories are done, no moving of chairs on the deck will change that

With or without Sunak the Tories are done. Too many disaster's, too long (if at all) in acting on issues important to our country & the absolute disregard for the British public has taken it's toll. Since May was dismissed & Brexit, COVID, Cost of living crisis, Just Stop Oil protest's, various policing issues (or lack of) & the IMMIGRATION nightmare, Sunak has been either in charge or in the top tier & played a significant role in the demise of the country No one has made a move to oust him despite public opinion to the contrary ... We can only conclude that either the entire Conservative party is Frozen in fear of making things worse or just going along with Sunak's plan to please Europe & drag us back under EU control. It's time for a complete change of government now, sadly as currently the only viable option it's likely to fall to the Labour party but I feel it will be a case of a win by default with so many former Tory voter's staying away from the poll's than an outright win. Starmmer is still for many the "unknown factor" as he turn's the party into nothing more than a watered down version of the Tories... I have a feeling if they do win, he won't be their leader for long

Those Tory MPs DO know what would be needed to turn their fortunes around. But those are policies they are ideologically opposed to: Fix the NHS, fix the backlog in the judicial system, fix the housing market, increase people’s wages, lower trade friction with the EU, emd the cost of living crisis, reduce CO2 emissions, invest in public transport and infrastructure, invest in education and a healthy workforce, regulate polution and bad workplace practices, etc.

Getting rid of Sunak isn't going to make any difference unless you have someone extremely charismatic to replace him, the nearest guy who fits the fill is JRM but I don't think he wants the job and he's incredibly polarising, ie would be very popular with Conservatives but deeply hated by others. Sunak has passed the 2 year mark and whatever his unpopularity, duration of service has a quality all its own. Frankly the best thing for the Tories is actually to KEEP Sunak, rather than introduce some 11th hour replacement, and hope for an unlikely upswing in the economy in the next 6 months or an almost as unlikely series of F-ups by Labour. At a minimum you are staving off a Labour government by 6 months.

People do vote in a political party to government but that is closely associated with the fact that the PM will last for at least 4 or 5 years. For the Tory party to oust Rishi Sunak and replace him with the third unelected PM is treating the public with contempt.
@davidmccann9811
@davidmccann9811 Ай бұрын
If the people are voting for a party on the basis that the party leader will be PM for the next 5 years, then that's just an assumption by the person voting. There is no such rule, and there is no such thing as an "un-elected PM". Those in government (Tory or Labour) always treat the British people with contempt, mainly because no matter how badly they treat us we still vote for them anyway. We do nothing to demand their respect.
