The song hits the soul and hurts my heart. A beautiful song about an ugly topic, child abuse. Nobody should hit a child because of hared.

I'm a veteran. My biological father was a veteran. He used to beat me. I thank God my grandparents stepped up and took me in. This song wrecks me every time I play it. God bless the abused and God bless the protectors.

I’ve watched this one several times!!! I never had a father growing up or a stepdad! My mother and grandmother were the ones to raise me and my siblings!! They are both long gone now, but would have done anything to protect us kids!!! Great reaction and I agree with you totally!!

Man thanks sharing your story. I remember a similar incident. My mom was teaching me how to write my name before started kindergarten next thing I know I’m hit from behind and landing on the floor. Me and my mom Talked about it years later. She told me I learned to write the alphabet but that whole year I couldn’t write the letters of my name. I have vague memories of it. The reason she was having a hard time teaching me in the first place was she was right handed and I was left. He just didn’t have any patience.

My dad left us, cleared out the bank account, took our only car, and when he decided to come back, my mom took him back. I remember 3 times, but my momma said it was more. I asked her why, and nobody remembers, or so they say. I have a hard time to this day, as an adult, with people being late and not knowing where my people are. Oh, and once before I even started going to school, my momma left me at a department store, and when she missed me, she came back for me. I believe in spanking. I use a wooden spoon. My mom said that was mean because they spanked with their hands. I told no hands are made for loving, not for discipline. She had no retort. Happy late Thanksgiving to you and your family.

Finally. I've seen comments on so many videos of this song and I thought I was the only one who as "the preacher " would have told this baby. I got you. You will never have to deal with his abuse again!

Jesse Howard and Nu breed are two different people. Nu breed is a guy from Lakeland Florida where I’m from Jessy Howard. I believe is from Ohio, or somewhere both in their own right are phenomenal I’m not trying to correct you, but they do a lot of music together. that’s probably why you thought that.
