Superb video. That final taxi into history got me quite emotional. And what a job the boys did in that 9 ship formation as that is something they don't do every day! Top class.

As I grew up the Tornado was always in the background, defending and protecting decent people and decent governments. Well done and thank you to everyone involved with the MRCA and Tornado. M.

Great job! You Brits have a lot to be proud of in these men and their planes. As an old U.S.A.F fellow I appreciate your fine pilots and aircraft.

Excellent video, I know quite a few of the aircrew and groundcrew on the last two Tonka squadrons and what they have achieved over the past 2 --3 years keeping this aircraft not only airworthy but as a viable fighting machine is nothing beyond miraculous. WELL DONE TO ALL INVOLVED. 28th Feb 2019 was indeed a sad day at Marham.

Boy these beasts have a real "don't fuck with me" vibe about them and no wonder - often merely described as a bomb truck but that doesn't do justice at all to the versatility of this awesome jet not many even modern jets can do mach 1.3 at low level like this beauty can. Farewell to an awesome machine that served us well.

Such a beautiful fighter that shows an attitude like "don't f*ck with me, or ill kick your ass"! Hope they keep a couple for displays on airshows.

Great footage, thanks for posting. I worked with (not on) Tornado in it's early days at RAF Honington, TWCU and IX Squadrons, great aircraft, still can't quite believe it has been retired.

Hard to believe the Tornado has been in service for 40 years.

I didn't realise it aswell, though the F3 was relatively short in service. Pity.

Great aircraft which has gone before it's time. Will be missed. even though it is 40 years old it had more 'legs' in it.

Brilliant video but if they had had the money to do that fly past across the country it would have been as popular as the Mi Amigo flypast.

Great video and a sad day to see this epic machine leaving our skies. Does anybody know if the Gov’t is selling them to another country for their airforce, or are they going to various museums?
@JayeDee_Gr45 жыл бұрын
They should moth ball a squadron like the Americans do , so they can be brought back when the f-35 gose tits up . I really don't want to see these birds vanish from our skies , i have allot of child hood memories being brought up on an airforce base . Especially while my father served his duty at RAF TTTE COTTESMORE as an Technician on the RB199's . I will miss the sound of those engines especially at reheat and the rumble as tonka hurtling down the runway . She should have been upgraded for another 40 years Gr5 could have been possible , but instead government buy the f35 . Time will tell if it was all a big mistake !!

It's just a shame that those of us with jobs and couldn't get time off, and who paid the taxes that keep these things airborne, didn't get a chance to say farewell. Maybe a couple of airshow appearances or something. Oh well, what's done is done :/
