taz89ful no. It is still in service and is used as their backup in the event that tiv2 breaks down. Also, it has a 7.3 power stroke in it, those don’t just “go bang”. The 7.3 power stroke and the 12v Cummins are the best Diesel engines ever made.

@@Kenny22852 Uhh this is old information. As of Octobe 2019 Tiv 2 was no longer in service for sean casey and was sold to ryan shepard. As for the whereabouts of Tiv 1 the last public statement made aobut it was by casey in 2011 and the last time i can find that it showed up in a 2013 twitter post from sean saying he was getting it ready for some meuseum visits. After that all the info i can find is second hand through other chasers that talked to him about tiv at some point. They all pretty much say that it spent a decent amount of time in a kansas field and that over the course of its life it went through 3 different motors. Where they differ is that some say it recently moved unde rits own power but unless theres a video or pictures of any of this Im gonna just call it speculation. If it truley did blow 3 motors up I honestly wouldn't be surprised. When tiv 1 was built it was on an already well abused 97 f450 chassis and chasing puts a lot of miles on the vehichles every year. Then after the first motor went sean probably just swapped in whatever cheap motor he could find that probably already wasn't well taken care of.

First time I've ever watched this doc which pretty much detailed the origins of Sean and the TIV. Kind of weird doing so when I've already binged every single episode and season of Storm Chasers, but now I can say I've seen the timeline from start to end thus far. Very tense as to be expected and the final intercept was incredible. I did not expect the windspeeds of a tornado to be slower at the bottom than they are at the top, so that's certainly something. Now there's really one thing left for me to see in the Sean Casey-storm chasing saga. His film, Tornado Alley. :D 🌪🌪🌪🌪🌪

the video at 14:19 and 28:13 was taken in Manchester South Dakota, and it took one hell of an ass kicking from that EF4 packing winds up to 200 mph. and south Dakota has been known for monster tornadoes like the 1998 spencer SD tornado which killed 6 people (which became the deadliest tornado in South Dakota history), the 2003 Manchester SD tornado, and the 2010 Bowdle SD tornado, most recently on September 10th 2019 Sioux falls SD was struck by 3 separate tornadoes all within minutes of each other. (what are the odds of any city in tornado alley sustaining a direct hit from multiple tornadoes all just a few minutes apart)
@mesohunt7043 жыл бұрын
Codell Kansas got hit on the same day 3 years in a row. The odds of that are mind blowing. I can drive a few thousand miles in a season and consider myself lucky if I see 2 or 3 all season. I haven’t seen a tornado since February 2020 so I’m suffering withdrawals bad. Heading to the plains in 2 weeks so hopefully I’ll have some luck. Typically I go in may but won’t make it until the beginning of June this year. I haven’t had any luck at home in NC this year but hopefully it changes.

You forget he's getting paid to be in this documentary? Pretty sure when you have a newborn coming you need all the extra cash you can get. Not sure how much he was paid for this but definitely enough to warrant being away from home for a while. secondly he was still present right before and when she gave birth, which is the most terrifying part thirdly she was completely aware of what was happening, why you think she would give him the go ahead to go? sounds like you're mad for no reason

I'd love to know how much Sean spent out of pocket to make Tornado Alley. Even with the grants that he reveieved along the way, I don't understand how all those of years spent chasing in order to get “the perfect shot” turned out to be profitable in the end.

I want to share him an idea I drew. A new Tornado Intercept Vehicle 3 (T.I.V 3). It would have debris shields for the windows with surveillance cameras in the front and back. The camera of the turret would adjust up and down like an observatory telescope to look up inside the twister. Wind skirts like the T.I.V 2, but the anchor spikes would adjust to a different angle.
