I agree with Marek on the Dubas thing. I've said the same. Phasing out the Pitt core is similar to his Leafs experience. He's uniquely qualified to spin wheels for up to 7 years while tweaking around the fringes. As soon as he inked the core 4 in TO the cap flatlined and spinning his wheels became the new normal. Spin until the cap goes up or the Tavares deal ran out. Now he's waiting for the core to retire in Pitt. It'll be interesting if he ever has the ability to build a team without so much of an anchor to drag around

If anyone else but mcdavid throws that elbow it's a suspension and a fine. Like if that's lomberg or rempe or pretty much anyone else in the league they get a call from player safety. That's a terrible call from officials. He needs to be held accountable doesn't matter if he's a super star.

Dubas never really had a chance with the Pens... His mandate was to go all in for the core, but he had nothing to really work with, so he traded bad contracts for bad contracts... and he still has his bad contract. Now it's just shuffling deck chairs till the core demands trades or they all retire.
