is it just me or did i watch this cause i wanted to relive going through a airport (mainly one i was familiar with) going through airports is one of my favourite parts of traveling (after security and check in) exploring the airport and stuff

This replicated my experience of Terminal One going to Dublin on Air Canada a week later. If I had watched this beforehand it would made my experience less confusing. Thanks for putting this together. Happy future travels!

@@JohnnyStridesIve been thinking about you all day. I got my gate today and the map on my phone and just now was going to your video because I had blanked out on where security is. So just caught that. Im E79 . whew. Now I am trying to get my wifi printer connected to my mac like it used to be so I can print my boarding pass but its screwed up so now Im rewatching the boarding pass printing kiosk. So you didn' t get the boarding pass emailed to you when you checked in online? I now see the app has a walking map as I rewatch you.... this is soooo comforting!

The airside connection between the domestic and international gates was only opened relatively recently, shortly before the pandemic. I think this was mainly to facilitate connections, because previously certain connections actually required you to be bussed from one part of the airport to another. Being able to close one of the checkpoints in off-peak times to save money is probably a bonus as far as the GTAA is concerned. They really should invest in changeable electronic signage at the checkpoints if they actually intend to operate them this way.

Pearson needs chairs without arms. Had to overnight in Pearson in the summer after we missed our connection and it was pretty weaksauce. Other travellers in the same boat just roughed it the floor

Very helpful video! Now I can secure my mental map even more: since my flight will be Air Canada, it's Terminal 1, and since it’s a domestic flight, I should go in the direction of D gates, and since it will be very early in the morning, I can hope it won’t be overwhelmingly crowded.

I was at Pearson on Xmas Day. I too had a late night flight with Eva Air. The security at the E Gates closed after checking in and was redirected to the D Gates to go through security and then a long walk to the E Gates. My flight left on time. Some AC flights were delayed.

In terminal 1 , after clearing security and on your way to the domestic gates, the signs are not that good so you could end up in international zone, then you have to have a passport with you to leave that area, which I didn't carry as I was flying domestic. So weird , I don't understand why they would allow for this mix up to happen.

@cfferry20022 жыл бұрын
that was fun ... but how do you travel for 10 days with such a little suitcase ... lol
@JohnnyStrides2 жыл бұрын
What would someone possibly need to bring to a warm climate that would warrant a larger suitcase and have to deal with standing around an airport waiting for baggage? Not worth it.. some shorts, tshirts, socks/underwear etc + basic toiletries and any electronics is all one needs. People tend to overpack and then get stuck waiting for and lugging around giant suitcases for no reason. I'm at the point where if you're one of those people I'm not going to travel with you lol

Do you not exceed the 15 lb limit for carry on luggage? 🤔
@JohnnyStrides2 жыл бұрын
I doubt it. I put most of that stuff in my backpack which goes under the seat. You don't need much for a warm destination like Bangkok. Also since I don't check bags nobody ever checks my carry-on anyway. Just go to the kiosk, get boarding pass and head past security. If you like up to get your boarding sometimes they'll weigh the carry on... screw that.
