Hey, Nice video! By the way, the odd like jail things at the end of the platform were put there since in the 1970's a teenage girl was attacked in St. Patrick station in November 1975. The reason being that St. Patrick, Queen's Park, and Musem all had an alley like closed off area where people could not see inside from infront or behind. For St. Patrick and Queen's park, the TTC decided to block those areas off with a concrete wall. However, they could not put concrete walls around that area at Museum station since there was ventilation fans. So, they decided to put a cage there. Little piece of history!

What an interesting subway stop! My sister needs to have wheelchair assistance now so we don’t often take the subways we just take the taxis.

This is I think one of the best times to be walking the downtown/uptown area. Nice and quiet...though the subway is eerily quiet than I'm used to lol

🍎 very cool metro station and definitely eclectic. Reminds me a bit of the ones in Stockholm Sweden. They have a lot of creativity with theirs as well. - H

I'll have to go to Sweden someday! Maybe not until they figure out a better way to fight off the virus though.

Remember back in the day when they first remodel Museum station? And remember when they first introduced the bike lanes on Bloor? It’s so sad to see the streets so dead, when normally that street is just full of energy from the students, tourist and locals.
@JohnnyStrides4 жыл бұрын
I remember... hopefully Bloor continues to get built out! Apparently the Danforth section is about to get a major overhaul. Hopefully the streets are back to their busy, wonderful selves this summer!

Are they making more subway stations wheelchair accessible?
@JohnnyStrides4 жыл бұрын
I believe that is part of the master plan!
@Josh-qo5mt4 жыл бұрын
They plan to make all Line 1 and 2 stations accessible by 2025. All of the stations on Line 4 are accessible and they deemed it unnecessary to make Line 3 stations accessible since they plan to knock the line down.

Are any of the subway stations wheelchair accessible
@JohnnyStrides4 жыл бұрын
A great deal of the stations are, in fact I think 26 of 38 on Line 1 are. Anything short of 100% is not acceptable IMO but we're getting there. I hope this helps: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toronto_Transit_Commission_accessibility

Thank you for the reply. When I was then in the 80s as far as I knew none were accessible. I love Toranto.

I have taken my bike into the subway at the end of a few of my cycling videos. It's really just a matter of walking your bike into the station and onto the train.

did it cross your mind, the subway is one of the worse places to be right now cause of the virus staying airborne inside the train and on stuff? I live next to subway but havent taken yet
@JohnnyStrides4 жыл бұрын
That crossed my mind quite a while ago but since then I feel more confident taking it than before. It's immaculately clean, easy to keep distance from others and on top of that enough time has gone that there's no links at all to suggest the subway system has been a catalyst for spreading the virus. There's TTC workers in the stations, on the platforms and trains every day not to mention all the users of the system. I'd think the grocery store or pretty much any retail environment poses a much greater threat as there's far more human to human contact and interaction. I also think we're under control well enough to just wear a mask indoors and keep those hands clean and there's really nothing at all to worry about.
@davidchandler68854 жыл бұрын
@@JohnnyStrides I understand what you're saying, my only concern is small particles they say builds up in air person after person inside doing in eyes or getting on your mask since it's not full proof. I was looking at your videos, looks like subway is getting busier, is fairly full now like not empty like before when u take it? I been avoiding taking it n it's right at my front door
