Torque converter adjustments to go faster green spring VS red
Compared the green spring to the red spring on the Predator 212-powered Colamne CT200U-EX minibike to see which would perform the best out of the two.

Great video, I had questioned the T/C on how much MPH I can get out of it! Now that I know I can change the springs I might consider it a little more!! Another great video🤙🏻

I’ve wondered the same thing. My 212 mod 2 is pulling good just top end isn’t where I want it. I’m topping out at 45-47 just want a little more,( without redlining the engine)but I don’t wanna effect my bottom end too much ! Maybe dropping rear sprocket from 60t - 58t would be the easiest / cheapest change ! Any input is welcomed 👍

Ended up with a yellow spring in the tightest hole for my hill climbing bike. I think it was more important with the Comet driver. With a Juggernaut, wasn’t really needed, as the Juggernaut stays in a lower ratio longer on its own. It be cool to see some 1/8th mile times and hill climbs if you get the opportunity.

Try an overdrive Lockout ring as well. It's a small spacer that slips over the brass bushing on the driver pulley under the belt. Depending on how wide you make it, it prevents the pulley from going into the 0.9 to 1 overdrive, which can sometimes severely hinder the engines ability to hit it's max RPM ranges, where it actually makes it's power on some built up motors.

They also make stronger clutch springs for a clutch that engages higher in rpm, and you can make lock out ring that lets it stay out of overdrive, if you make it right you can get 1 to 1 or 1 to 0.9 ratio which should let a high revving engine actually hit it's higher ranges without too much of a struggle.

Got all new parts but I'm having some belt slippage on the back pulley. Everything's lined up nice an the belts the right size.. Think the green spring would help grab the belt better? Or maybe have an idea of what other things to check? Normally if I have this issue it's the clutch which is an easy fix. Anyways love your contact keep it up man.

If you are using the stock driver the green spring in that position is the worst. He's using the Juggernaut driver which is very different. Put the red spring back in the left most clock wise position and notice much better acceleration (0-30). The Juggernaut wouldn't work very well with the 60 tooth.

I never knew you could do that with a torque converter. two questions: is it possible to put the electric motor on a big frame like this bike ? And is there a way to switch one of the gears on a jackshaft? You know it got a 20 tooth and 10 tooth sprocket. Is there like a 11-20 tooth you could swap out for it? I got a mb200 with rear shocks and I'm not able to put a torque converter on it because of the frame and Im not sure if I can one chained. So I'm slowly now days😩

An electric motor would be easy to put on a big bike. There is a lot of room for all the components. I think running a QS138 on a big bike would be awesome! Yes, there are different gear sets for the torque converter.

From what I've seen, the spring adjustments really don't affect the juggernaut torque converters. Regular 30 series drivers have overdrive, and I've seen that changing spring positions and changing springs will greatly affect the top speed and acceleration of standard drivers. Maybe your top speed doesn't change much because the juggernaut doesn't have overdrive?

I’ve been very curious on this subject lately. Curious to know if you have tried a top speed run in the first hole? To my understanding the first hole gives the most top end and the third hole gives the most torque
@WyFoster
@WyFoster Жыл бұрын
Sort of. The more you preload the spring, the more it holds the engine at a higher RPM. It's like putting your car into sport mode, keeping it a gear lower. It will still go the same speed, it will just get there quicker from being in a shorter gear. At the cost of fuel economy and extra wear and tear from the higher cruising RPM.
@marquislewis1767
@marquislewis1767 Жыл бұрын
@@WyFoster so i have a brand new green spring as well but haven’t installed it yet. Is the middle hole the best option for all color springs? Theres a couple videos on YT showing that the juggernaut likes the 1st hole for the least amount of spring tension
@WyFoster
@WyFoster Жыл бұрын
@Marquis Lewis Really depends on your engine build. The more aggressive it is, the more preload. The green spring is stiffer. It's like if you came up with a 5th or 6th hole for the red spring. Not a magic bullet. It's more of a tuning aid. Most of the magic is in the driver clutch in terms of stall speed.
