@JReedy27 yeh maybe I’d say the bigger turbo 30d xdrive would be better, Not launching either car, But the little bit more lag from standstill acceleration (not launch) at over 1000 nm and near 450 bhp is going too make the gearbox and xdrive last a lot lot longer in the 330dx than the same from a 335x that much torque must hurt trans and xdrive a lot more. Like Ryan quoted in the gtd 286 bhp vid. All these new diesel have low down max torque from 15/1800 rpms. It’s just going too wear box out fast. So nutshell I’d settle for bit lag more reliable/longevity from transmission and xdrive system and still rapid,

Cracking car, amazing tune! I have the 2016 330d with the exact same engine. The "TwinPower Turbo" refers to the Turbo being a Twin Scroll turbo. A bit misleading, but thats what it means.

I got a 435d gutted dpf, intercooler, map. Geting abit used to the set up though. Heard about all the hybrid turbo stuff and not convinced. Seems abit silly to sell it to get a 430d, but I do want those figures 458hp and 750 ft/lbs of torque. I read all the comments, so you working on that engine to have a ready product for it? Mine is pretty good with smoke in winter, apart from on hard launch, summer it's a mess wuth hard launch. Yours looks pretty clean, obviously you weren't launching. Anything that makes a difference?

The single turbo unit itself is easier to upgrade. The bi turbo units are much harder so you are limited to how big and if not done correctly the change over between the small and large unit can be noticable when driving.

Yes it can be done, however F33 (Convertible) models will require removing or modifying the lower chassis (V) braces. Other than this the upgrades are the same.

Shouldn't have to, it'll need a gearbox tune other than it should be solid. It'll get to around 400hp and 600nm on just intercooler, turbo and downpipe. I still drive my F30 330d I bought new in 2014. It runs 320hp and 700Nm. Even my Michelin Sport 4S tires at the back have difficulties putting it down. Yesterday it was raining hard and I had to be careful with the throttle. Can't imagine how it must be with and extra 130hp and 300 Nm... Personally I wouldn't dare to add more Nm because the ZF8 in the 30d is rated at 700Nm (+ 10% margin). Does anyone know what a new ZF8 costs in a 30d? Just so I stay away from adding more :D

You can find them on ebay for less than a grand, or even ask BMW for prices. But we've pushed them to 1000nm easy with no problems so far!

I have no doubts on how capable this car is, but what about longevity and reliability on trackdays? Do you guys offer any cooling upgrades? At this point I know that my next car is going to be a diesel with nice potential, although so far I've found more track upgrades for merc v6 diesel as some guys from Finland sell them. And yet I am so confused as 4 series is in my opinion perfect in terms of styling, sound, driving and price. Also, do you ship parts to Denmark?

We ship to Denmark all the time, on track this would melt, you need to take a fair bit of power out to keep temps in check even with the best coolers. Not sure what bits are available for the mercs but those cars are not track ready.

I wish my 420D had atleast 100 BHP more. Every tune I've seen online only ever puts 20 - 40bhp extra on top. I want to know if a 420D can be tuned to have massive power and what it would take (apart from the mention of cash) to get that? I.e. bigger turbo, remaps intercooler. There's just no video out there even talking of 420Ds really. I'm wondering if I need to get a better 4 series with a stronger engine.

Ive got a 435d and thought you had to keep them to 550ft ibs for the zf 8 speed but guessing this has had work. Was gonna go for a downpipe and intercooler/map for 400bhp roughly and cap the torque. What is actually safe for the gearbox on these? I rarely hammer it so should last with the odd abuse.

Interesting to see what you can get from these I have the 435d running 389BHP and 755Nm, managed to get a verified time on draggy of 3.88s 0-60, does anyone have much experience taking these to stage 2/3 and what is expected power wise? I'd definitely recommend the xhp map, drag mode makes the car an absolute savage in 1st and 2nd, I haven't been brave enough to try rear wheel drive only yet

We don't get any more out of the 435D on standard turbos. We are working on a upgrade at present, we expect to have these fitted early in the new year however fuelling and intake upgrades will then be required. We can remove emission controls and add our intercooler, which it certainly needs, but these only increase power by a small amount. Email us and we can send over updates when they are available.

Not sure what sound you are referring to? At around 11:40 driving the car on idle, you can hear some turbo noise. Is this the noise? If it is, it's just some turbo noise resonating through the downpipe.
