@@michaelgonzales500 Respectfully disagree, Oswaldo was only playing to cover until DJ came back. It didn't matter what he did DJ was taking the spot when he got back because of his contract. DJ was never gonna sit even if the kid hit 800. Hell he should even play over Gleyber, he was clutch and energetic and played great defense but the spot was never his it was always DJ. My point being the team was better when was playing every day. Now the big contract guy is healthy and has to get his spot back and unfortunately he doesn't even have 1 extra base hits yet. Kind of the same deal with Cole. He has to get his spot back cuz he's got the huge contract to be the Ace. But I think anyone would have told u even That young guy Potitte or whatever his name is would have performed better than the 4 walks, 4 homeruns and zero strikeouts Cole put out. It is what it is but that team they had in April and beginning of May was completely different and Gleyber was also hitting, Rizzo was hitting and Volpe was on fire.

As a Red Sox fan, Verdugo is giving the Yankees exactly what they signed. He's an average player overall, in fact he is playing below average at the moment. He's OK in the field, but he has never lived up to expectations at the plate. He's been steadily declining for the past 4 years and the Red Sox saw this. He is a better option than what the Yankees had last year, but to have a .704 OPS when half your games are played at a park taylor made for lefties, is underachieving.

So you mean the yenakees who are in win now mode every year should be able to have good veteran players in the lineup should also have great young backups and great backups to the backups and great backups to the backups to the backups. That's an illogical though to think you can have this many injuries and still have great players waiting in the wings. Just a month ago we were asking how is dominguez even going to crack this roster and now he and the guy in front of him are both hurt. It's baseball man you can't always complain about everything because some things aren't in anybody control like health.

The Yankees are run horribly.. consistently highest payroll in the league but basically for three or 4 guys that get hurt and they have nobody developing and do nothing to cultivate talent and depth.. Yankees won't even be second in the division by the end of the year.. Orioles have youth everywhere and are going to run away with the division soon especially if they get some starting pitching
