Have been in the US for 9 years but never heard of Asian are considered as bad drivers, very interesting video though! BTW, keeping your car closer to the car next to you when parallel parking should help.
@robertlee73324 жыл бұрын
This works for majority of the time for parallel parking- start cranking the steering wheel all the way when you see the farthest rear signal light on the parked vehicle (in your case the parked vehicle would be the dark blue Honda) as you are reversing your car doing parallel parking. If you are trying to park the car into the spot to the right of your car, crank the steering wheel all the way to the right. Vice versa, if you are trying to park the car into the spot to the left of your car, crank the steering wheel all the way to the left. As soon as your car's tail end gets into the parking spot, straighten the steering wheel. Your vehicle needs to be closer to the adjacent vehicle when you start parking. In your video, you were too far away from the dark blue Honda. May I recommend practice doing this a few times if you are going to visit San Francisco? Twin Peaks in San Francisco has free parking and you can get a great view of the city. California Academy of Sciences and Golden Gate Park park are also good places to visit. Obviously, tourists love the cable car. if you are still in the LA area, I highly recommend the FREE Getty Museum (the only public entrance to the Getty Center is at the intersection of Getty Center Drive and Sepulveda Boulevard) and Getty Villa. One final tip: pay attending to the color of the curb. White-Stop only long enough to pick up or drop off passengers or mail (notice the white curb in your video?). Green-Park for a limited time. Look for a posted sign next to the green zone for time limits, or locate the time limit painted on the curb. Yellow-Stop no longer than the time posted to load or unload passengers or freight. Drivers of noncommercial vehicles are usually required to stay with the vehicle. Drawing showing red, green, yellow, blue , and white painted curbs. Red-No stopping, standing, or parking (buses may stop at a red zone marked for buses). Disabled sign Blue-Parking is permitted only for a disabled person or driver of a disabled person who displays a placard or special license plate for disabled persons or disabled veterans. You car cannot be more than 18" away from the curb; otherwise, you could get a parking ticket. www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/dmv/detail/pubs/hdbk/parking Enjoy your stay in California.

I didn't understand why people say asians are bad drivers since I consider myself a pretty good driver in the US, until I work and drive daily in mainland China, it complete changed my view on asian drivers, people really don't know how to drive there, so bad it's actually ridiculous. I couldn't agree more on that statement now.

initially I also question your driving skills, but I just realized that in Hong Kong, steering is on the right side where it's the left side in US, this may sound simple to adjust but it may not be in reality. Anyway, good and joyful video, and stop picking on GG, we all love her!
Not to step on toes but I use to live in LA and it wasn't so much the Asian men that were the problem. It was mainly the Asian women immigrants because when they leave their neighborhood like, Monterey Park, Rosemead, Alhambra, etc.

How can you pass your driver test without knowing parallel parking? I know it's hard. hahaha
I do enjoy this video a lot !!!!I interact with people ,combat he stereotype with humor ~~I enjoy his standup comedy too~~so nice to see the connection between this top and standup
@kimzhong1174 жыл бұрын
What a weird sterotype lmao. The video is very impressive and as a Asian, I wanna say, you have done a great job Torres!
parallel parking you make yourself distant too far from the first car when you are parallel with it, try get closer to it next time you should be able to get into the "box"
I think a lot of people think Asian drivers drive bad that’s because mainland China’s people learn how to pass the test for the license not for how to daily drive. So that’s why they think the Asian people drive bad. They get license in China then go to others countries to change local license. Not racial discrimination
@honchengho46564 жыл бұрын
Mainland China drive license is useful at other countries ?
@ManCiyi4 жыл бұрын
Hon Cheng Ho Yes they can made a translation for the license or use the Chinese license to change to us license just need to do a simple test.
@allenli25484 жыл бұрын
maybe it's because most Chinese drivers do NOT have a concept of "right-of-way", they don't know when and how to give way. This is a big problem for those Chinese drivers driving in most foreign countries.

yo they should try driving in cities like Hong kong(8M population in 427 mi^2), Shanghai (30M population in 2448 mi^2), etc and compared with cities like L.A. (4M Population in 500 mi^2) and or wherever they live in the state. If they live in NYC which have 8M population in 300 mi^2 and still say that they are comfortable with driving in such crowdedness I would give them credits. But if they are living in places like Phoenix city or Las Vegas and tell me that driving is easy af I would tell them compare the population density or the entire Asia continent with the State and figure out which place is harder to drive. I live in Miami for 5 yrs now and previously got my driver licence in Taiwan and I dare say that 60% of drivers here in Miami DO NOT use signal light when they change lane or make a turn.
