I still think the 2012 Ravens are the most overlooked Super Bowl team. That entire season was like a movie for them. Art Modell’s death before the season, this game, Ray Lewis’s injury and return for the playoffs for one last ride, Suggs not playing until week 7. It was the most roller coaster ride season I’ve ever seen, and in my view the greatest playoff run of all time.

BF Network Eagles had two home games, a bye week, and a completely healthy roster with the exception of Wentz. The only real “upset” they had was in the Super Bowl. Ravens had to go into Denver as 11 point underdogs and into New England as a 9 point underdog and won both of those games, with the greatest QB postseason run of all time, AND their greatest player retiring.

So many people forgot about how dominant of a deep ball receiver Smith was early in his career, he was about as dominant as anyone in the game. I remember when I used to be a patriot hater and was watched this game in awe as to how someone could not only play, but dominate a game after something so tragic, his brother was definitely with him on the field that night
@darkchocolate33906 жыл бұрын
This is what made Flacco so good. A good possesion receiver in Boldin, a deep ball threat in Torrey, reliable TE play with Dickson(when he could catch) and Dennis Pitta. a fantastic running game with Ray Rice. Hopefully we can get back to this formula this year in 2018-2019 with Crabtree, Brown/Moore, Alex Collins and Hurst/Andrews
@callumgardiner5866 жыл бұрын
You forgot the fact he was in a contract year, like he is now, when you combine that with the Lamar Jackson draft, Flacco has no excuse not to be motivated. The 2015 Broncos showed that a great defense can carry sub-par QB play to a Super Bowl. It will also help them that the Bengals and Browns are in a rebuilding state and the Steelers defense was abysmal late last year without Shazier.

Long story short, I didn't pick him up, moral of the story: NEVER underestimate the power of someone whose playing for someone, I've seen people play on a a different level when they play for someone after a loss. @@HighlightHeaven Also include Seahawks vs Falcons 2012 Divisional Playoff. Seahawks almost won that game after being down 20-0 at halftime.

Damn I remember this game like it was yesterday... I remember the entire season like it was yesterday one of the most memorable sport seasons I’ve ever watched. That year I wore my ravens jersey every week cause I was proud to be a fan.

Watched this game here in Australia, was absolutely amazing and one of the best games I've ever watched. Much respect Torrey, you were great that season

This is awesome. I dont think i saw this game but im a packer fan and this reminded me of the game favre had after his dad died i believe against the raiders and he threw for like 350 yds and 4 tds on some miraculous passes/catches. Good for smith! It takes real guts and courage to go perform in front of that many people and stay locked in with thst stuff on ur mind. Kudos brother

2012 Ravens was a very well rounded superbowl team. If the lights didn't go out that game would not have been close.

Bad things could either get ya down, or they could motivate you. Torrey played for his brother that night, and maybe every night since. But this night was the peak of that emotional motivation. He's always been a stand-up guy. I wish the best for him
