brilliant piece by the way, it is probably inspired by Ennio Morricone (at least the first part), and it has a very "cinematic" feeling. One of the best pieces by Tortoise, in my opinion.

Scenic - Acquatica (1996); anything by Anouar Brahem / Anouar Brahem Trio; anything by Cul De Sac, especially the album China Gate (1996) and its song “Nepenthe”; Macha’s self-titled album (1998), the instrumentals on Eric Clapton’s Rush soundtrack (1991); anything by Dirty Three; the song “Nomad” by the Aqua Velvets (1996). The Scenic and Macha albums in particular are two of the most mind-bogglingly brilliant ones I’ve ever heard.
