Would like to thank you for the tutorial. It did end up being the led strips. After taking it apart. Found 2 leds on 2 different strips that were burned out. Tv was given for free due to not working. Glad I fixed it for fairly priced.

Hello, I have my Toshiba screen which has a black screen I unplugged it for 3 days and this morning I plugged it back in and turned it on. I've been unplugging it for 3 days and this morning I plugged it back in and turned it on, but when I start it up I get the startup screen with the Toshiba logo visible for a few seconds and then a black screen. I'm not sure if the problem is with the LEDs or the circuit that manages the LED backlighting. A dead capacitor for example?

Mines flashes once and then turns the led off . But it does flash. Everything works I can see an image and I can use the remote . The led flashes once when I connect the. Stays off . What's wrong ?

How do you known-if the backlight strip is the problem?

There's some method where if you turn it on with a flashlight up against the screen and can see the image from the flashlight, then the backlights have burned out.

@@rubenfloresvillar that’s a good question. I cannot answer that. Just know the back light issue. But after botching this repair I went to Best Buy for their tv sales. Tis the season 😉

when you power on and the red light just flashes while the screen stays black... i think was like 6 times or something. its a backlight issue

It intermittently won’t boot and show the Toshiba screen. Hard power on and off don’t work, new batteries on the remote (as if that’s the problem lol) and it’s not the LEDs!
