And made the entire game's combat feel less impactful and more bullet-spongy as a result. Seriously, enemy design, outside of visuals, has only went downhill since Inazuma to THIS DAY. The reason combat in games like Deep Rock Galactic work is because you can visibly see and FEEL the impact of your bullets deconstructing the body and organs of the bugs, and the way they recoil from damage taken and react to what you do. When you take that away and make every enemy an immovable tank, you no longer feel like you're "fighting", you just feel like you're causing damage numbers to pop up.

Other enemies do get sucked into it and that makes things easier but overall most trouble i could find would be having to use Arlecchino's burst to heal because of not dodging in time.

@@zzzkeiii yeah. It's not so much that the character needs to be thebest of the element (though that typically happens too), but it should be the best at the element's sort of "archetype." Best example, Zhongli is the best shielder in the game, bar none. But... He only shields, so he's not really all that Meta in terms of power. He just makes the game very convenient.

they didn't make him obsolete, or rather they reverted that back in 2.1. he still pulls most enemies in (or ALL enemies except bosses if they're frozen/petrified) and they still occasionally release new bosses that don't move from their spot a lot. thanks to Venti, i didn't have to learn the fatui operatives' moves, both Coppelia and Coppelius are a joke, and i have Kazuha free for the second half of the abyss. his ult also eats through the Baptist's shields pretty fast so he's good for the second half as well. stop listening to the doomposters and try using him for yourself, he's still strong and super fun to play!

There is absolutely no reason to use Venti over Kazuha or Sucrose unless you simply want to. This isn't "because they Buff on top of CC" but by simply how their CC Works. Kazuha & Sucrose can still group immovable Enemies without the need of Freeze unlike Venti that need them to get Frozen before they can get sucked by His Q, because His E doesn't have any form of CC. Granted Sucrose needs C1 or Sacrificial to have Her CC actually reliable, but its a fair comparison since She's 4 Stars. Mind you I'm not hating on Venti, neither doomposting, because I'm also irritated how Venti got so many indirect nerf to the point He became obsoleted before even I can fully experience His Cheats lmao

I do use him everytime i abyss though. Vs c6 sucrose (dies faster) he is my better option. Though i built sucrose, venti energy fills faster than sucrose. And in artifact/mat dungeons he makes it quicker.

He can still be used but only in freeze teams and not at the boss battles in spiral abyss. Yeah, venti not needed for VV shred as any Anemo can take this role. Especially potent are the healers, Jean and Sayu. Kazuha is better for most use...

Venti is my favorite Archon, and I pulled him even after I got Kazuha just out of love for the character. Still, I hate what they did to him, he's an Archon after all, and they made a random samurai (no hate towards Kazu boy, I love him) stronger and more valuable than the God of wind. Same thing with what they did to freeze teams. As a veteran player and as someone who used to enjoy the Abyss bc of replayability with different teams, I hate what they've been doing recently, not making the abyss harder but just more annoying overall.

Let's not forget that venti had great potential as an anemo supporter especially with constellations, but Xiao, whose entire kit revolved around aoe plunging and greatly benefited from grouped up enemies, was made to have PERFECT hit boxes to NOT work with venti ult despite his plunge animation even depicting verticality with the spear effects

that's literally the fate of EVERY gacha though... powercreep is a killer. doesn't matter how good or popular a character is, they will inevitably be outclassed by new characters, and in order to keep those newer characters from curb stomping everything the content has to get harder, pushing out the older characters. If they were to then go back and buff older characters to be more in line, no one would pull for the new ones and the cashflow would stop. It's the unfortunate nature of the genre, they need old characters like venti to become obsolete so that players will pay for the new ones.

neuvilette's mechanics got nerfed in the literal sense which amounts to false advertisement and therefore can be legally liable and be sued by customers, venti got nerfed in the sense that he is an old product which simply got powecrept slowly by newer products hence there is no legal grounds to sue for false advertisement

Bosses are not usually a problem for Ayaka freeze unless it's really cryo resistant or immune which has been the trend in versions 3-4 of spiral abyss rotations.

I genuinely think Venti is one of if not the best Archon, he's the perfect mix of genuinely caring for his people and wanting to help (Nahida), wanting to mingle with them and feel close to them (Furina) and allowing them to deal with their problems themselves when he trusts they can manage without him, allowing them to become stronger in the process (Zhongli). Venti main here! I have loved Venti ever since I saw him. He was one of the main reasons I played and I joined genshin impact in ver 1.6 soon after I saw his character trailer, I loved him in the main archon quest, and i loved how he played (he is the only bow user i enjoy playing) and I worked hard to collect wishes for venti, and even when i took a long break from genshin in ver 2.3 (?), I still enjoyed looking at genshin context, especially venti stuff. I came back in ver 3.8 and Venti's banner soon came out with Wriotheasly and I happily won my 50/50 and got Venti. I was so ecstatic and i quickly built him up. However, with how a lot of the current enemies are built, which are unmoveable blocks, it felt like they were made to be built against Venti- and I suppose that isnt wrong. However, I still carried on and learned how to adapt and play Venti surrounding these enemies and such (For example: using burst right on top of the unmoveable enemies, and moving and attacking strategically with my party to where they stay in the black hole the entire time). Still i couldn't help but sigh in how sometimes it feels like the game is built against venti. He is definitely nerfed, but he still is an amazing and powerful character, and no matter how he plays i still love him. Any Venti mains out there?

6:43 I will NEVER FORGET how hated Kazuha was when he was still only leaked. Everyone just told each other to not get Kazuha because he's just an expensive version of Sucrose and he isn't worth getting if you have Venti or Sucrose built. That aged absolutely poorly because a lot of people skipped him and was begging for his rerun afterwards 😂 I got him when he was first released because of the voice actor, but I wasn't planning on maining him. @@Waltuhonyoutube ehhh not really, having two characters that fill the same niche is good in terms of using both of them in different abyss teams. So if you like both characters good to get both. Also I find using Venti for the monolith floors in the abyss is very helpful.

i’m a Venti haver, never had Kazuha, and I use the Anemo Archon despite having these issues… regardless… Hoyoverse had to release immovable enemies because that’s just how busted and overpowered Venti really is, but Venti will forever be the best at sucking enemies and making them stay in one place. He had his fair share of his time, and he’s giving the other characters to shine. He’ll forever be an amazing character to me

it’s so frustrating to me, because venti is the only archon that was bested in his own field. zhongli is still the best shield, despite many shield characters getting released. raiden is still arguably the best electro battery and driver despite different electro characters having gotten released. nahida is the best dendro applier, despite many new dendro characters being released. furina is currently the best hydro sub-dps, if not the best sub-dps/support overall (rivaling that of even bennett). and venti is the only archon that was power crept almost immediately. he is a good anemo support, yes, but is easily replaceable by kazuha, xianyun or sucrose. it doesn’t make sense, because they still do character reruns. so if they didn’t make his kit as lacking as they did (in comparison to other supports), he’d most likely be a similar situation to raiden, who has great selling banners on each of her reruns. and so does zhongli and nahida. and i’m certain furina will as well.

Hoyo relased, Venti, Xiangling, Xinuqe, Fischl, Sucrose, Bennett in 1.0 Something that fuckin obliterated enemy mechanics and 4 star balance for unforeseeable future. Entire Sumeru roaster is a direct nerf to Bennett and his synergy with Dendro focused team. The fact that we still do not have an off field pyro applicator like Xiangling or a new four star hydro in the nation of hydro, is proof how much 1.0 characters obliterated balance of the game.

I have always thought that Venti is very powerful from a lore perspective & what we see in his gameplay is not even 50% of his real power. I think what they can do to counter this nerfing problem is make new movesets & updates to Venti. He's an Archon ffs. Make it a lore reason. Venti is obviously not using this full power. Mihoyo can make new changes to the moveset & release a new story quest & say that Venti unlocked his full potential so now he plays differently & is overpowered. They have to do it cuz there's no way Wanderer Kazuha & Xiao are more powerful than the Anemo Archon himself.

@@usmanya5110 enemy cannot be stunned when being vacuumed by Anemo abilities like Anemo Traveler Burst if the enemy is 20 levels higher than you. A lvl 60 Traveler can't stun lvl 81 enemies for example, so they will keep attackng you even when inside the tornado from Burst.

I use my venti to clear floors 9-11 of the abyss. For floor 12 he's pretty useless since they make sure to put bosses on both sides and he's not good with them. They really made sure to nerf him to the ground lol.

Venti was the very first 5* I ever pulled. I got him within my very first ten pull on all the way back on his first banner. I wasn't even familiar with gacha systems at the time. He became my favorite and main the moment I got him and had never left my team since. It was so sad to see all of this happening overtime, but I always found ways to make him work in the teams. Venti will always be the best and strongest character in my heart.

As someone newish to the game, I really hate how my favorite characters tend to be trash or obsolete. It's making spiral abyss really bloody hard unless I just start focusing only on pure power on characters I don't even like.

I have him and I don’t regret pulling him, he does make that scenario he’s good in really easy. As well as synergies with my favorite character, wanderer. I think his nerf was a very unique case but plenty of characters have shifted in and out of the meta. Ganyu for example was practically the best on release and now struggles just like venti. However in Ganyus case she is a dps so it’s a bit different. I would like to see a video about the other 2 OG archons because they’ve faded in and out of relevancy, especially Zhongli.

@@GIOVI-C45 well I just run him with Bennett and Faruzan, he benefits from both buffs as well and Scaras AoE encompasses ventis ult and the enemies being raised off the floor isn’t an issue so it’s convenient and practical.

Zhongli is still absolutely relevant, his Abyss usage rate in 4.6 was 69.8%. With characters like Arlecchino who lowers her own HP or Neuvillette who relies on charged attacks he makes it for a veryyyy comfortable play since you don't need to worry about dying or getting interrupted, he's still the strongest shielder in the game.

I know Hoyo hates buffing/reworking characters, but Venti is an Archon. They aren't just your average unit. They have great lore significance. Them and the Harbingers are supposed to be slightly better than the average 5-star. If Venti really is going to have great lore significance like the theories suggest, then they need to bring him up to par.

Venti is my favorite character and the only one I've taken my wallet out for so far... I'm also pretty casual. I don't follow the meta I just like to have my favorite guys in my team or whatever is most fun... So that means most of the time I have Venti in my team. I think the fact that wanderer can fly more than the ANEMO ARCHON IS...something But the weight mechanic really makes venti kinda useless and it sucks man.

Venti would be good for exploration if they didn't add a gadget that essentially replaced him entirely. He's still good for abyss since hoyoverse loves to spread small enemies that hurl stuff at you. But that's essentially all he's good for, at least to me. I was definitely miffed about the anti synergy with Klee. That was the only reason I got her. Benched her for Diluc later. :/

They had to nerf Venti. He was way to strong.😅 But what they should've done was raised his multipliers to keep him relative. I still use Venti to quickly clear floors 9 through 11.

As someone who played Moryana since 2.0, without Kokomi or Kazuha (even if i had them) I have noticed how often I have benched this team since 3.0 for sure. I always thought freeze was basically inviolable, esp after the release of Kokomi and Kazuha, and while these two still make it manageable every other rotation, if these two are not on your account, the team is benched or a pain to play. I do think this make the overall game healthier but damn, I really was upped by mihoyo. The flaws were always laid bare, and having a team be this strong for over 2 years is still pretty insane, but of course some variety is necessary.

1. Write a script 2. Avoid redundant talking points. When you say that Venti is good because he helps save a group's time in co-op, you don't need to say that groups without Venti are worse because they spend more time. Its the same thing.

I started to play at 1.0, and the story you told need some other lights/ways to interpret 1.6, anemo got a huge buff to their reaction. At the time, Venti was build ATK/ANEMO/Crit since swirls were lacking in dmg. Even with kazuha being an elemental mastery scaller, and the buff, the perception of the public at the time was pretty clear, yet uninformed : EM is bad. That's why sucrose was kinda pushed away as an anemo support, even if she is stronger than kazuha and venti in some cases. And that's why the first kazuha banner was... A flop. Yeah, he gains as much revenue as keqing. He is the 4th worse first run banner in revenue (source genshinlab). Around the Inazuma release, yeah, the mobs were pretty heavy, but you forgot one thing. Ayaka was released at the same time as this problem occurs. Ayaka was a character with very high expectation from the player base. Her best team was and is still freeze. The release of heavier enemies could have been a disaster for venti, but no. It was for kazuha, who shatter freeze with his plunge, with a somewhat lower number of owners, and sucrose, who don't give proper buffs except TTDS and VV shred. But Venti had a alright time in freeze team at the time. Morgana was one of the strongest team, and with the appearance of ayaka and a new freeze team, his status of godhood was maintained. The abyss around this time was very clearly one sided. One boss side, and one mobbing side. And on mobbing side, well, he was waaaay too good. If one side is venti-able, and you have venti, it was (and still is) free win. But soon, hoyovers will start to dilute bosses into mobs And this point of inazuma, was the start of his downfall. As raiden shogun was released, a lot of people started to look towards theorycrafters. The abyss complexity hit a spike, and raiden was a really strange character to build around. Calcs where more and more frequent, even common, and the place of anemo and VV shred started to come as a question. People realise a kazuha could give 35% dmg very easly, EM share started to be a common need, heck, even instructor and TTDS started to be meta at the eyes of a lot of people ! So, a simple "grouping character" started to look less and less useful. People realise how good EM was on certain condition, thanks to the theorycrafting community starting to crack open to the public, and kazuha rerun was on the lips of everyone.

Agree. Many people skimped over the 1.6 EM buff because the perception was EM = bad and most likely thought this wouldn't be a big buff. Most of the popular CCs at that time weren't really theorycrafters (remembering the "Kazuha is just a 5 star sucrose" from a certain CC) so it was another factor that it wasn't talked about that much. Another factor is that Ayaka was hyped at that time and a lot of people waited for her since she was a beta character but hasn't been released yet. When her banner was revealed, the playerbase just reinforced their decision about skipping Kazuha.

I'm pretty sure the Venti + Klee combo was patched out of the final beta (CBT3), because HoYo realised they would have made a disgustingly broken combo in 1.0, with how damn good those 2 would have synergised with each other. They clearly didn't see Sucrose as as much of a threat, as she was only budget Venti and had a much quicker burst. I also don't think that Inazuma enemies were particularly to spite Venti, as by that time already, Kazuha was already gaining a ton of traction in the meta and only 1 patch later upon Raiden's release, we started to see Raiden National becoming a thing. Also, having Venti properly interact with Dendro in any meaningful way would have made him arguably more broken than he ever had been and if it was anemo-wide, Kazuha would be even worse. If anything, Kazuha was the biggest middle finger and "nerf" to Venti and still remains that to this day.

Venti is still good, great for any content with mobs that can be cced. Hes been useful in the new Imaginirum Theater. Even when enemies cant be grouped up he still works. Great for energy recharge.

Im happy I got him right away in 1.0 for I dislike chasing down enemy groups, made early abyss super easy too. Like I cleared abyss 12 when my max level team was 70 and team stats were around 30% crit and 100% cdmg and the mains on that team where Venti and Klee and those two have go me to clear floor 12 in every version of abyss pretty much haha.

Unrelated but FYI As someone who has played since week 3 of Version 1.0, there have been 5 major jumps in meta and damage potential since release: 1) Hu Tao 2) Itto Geo team 3/4) Nahida/Nilou blooms & Alhaitham/Yelan/Kuki Aggravate 5) Neuv soloing + Furina = nuclear. Ayaka and Raiden were strong but not quite as game changing as these.

Note that kazuha did not do well for his initial banner. Venti and sucrose (especially her) was compared to kazuha and the community simply thinks pulling for him isnt worth it. Its only after they realised how strong he is (during his first rerun) that people simply stopped using venti. *** also its probably because kazuha’s ascension materials was literally locked in in-game event💀 so lower AR players literally cant farm for him. His ascension materials doesnt exist in the overworld yet

Venti said it himself he was the weakest of all archons and Hoyoverse made sure to hold it truthfully sadly. This is why I believe his best play style is by using sacrificial bow to Abuse his Tap E and Charge E while keeping the black hole with still high attack 2000+ to still do decent basics for driving if using as main dps. Either that or a physical venti with 3000 atk and the standard banner bow with the Sumeru anemo set to boost charge and normals.

I only got Venti during later post-inazuma patches, where I already had kazuha, so he was always kinda mid for me. I still think he has value, but it is very niche. For example there are some abyss floors or even stages, where there are multiple waves of many different small enemies. Venti absolutely shines in these stages, there are even some stages like this in the new theater mode. But you wouldnt play Venti against any boss or heavy enemies, which are the majority of floor 12.

I think its also important to note that there are players who whale on characters, spending a lot of money on one or even multiple characters, raising them to god-like powers, if then those same users would go on to say "this game is boring, the mobs/bosses are too easy for us", that is also something that the game devs would think about, its an impossible balance to walk, f2p accounts wont have the "best" 5* characters and weapons, they're gonna have an easy time leveling characters, beating bosses vs. Whales who can clear spiral abyss by soloing a character on each side. Welkin may seem cheap to pay so you get more primogems but paying £5 every month over 4 years, thats £240, thats more than you'd spend on a game on a 3ds or some steam games (im not gonna get into the precious crystal gems that have a 1:1 transformation rate to primogems) I am guessing to say at most it would be about 30-45% of their user base that at least buys welkin blessing, more than 3 or 4 times since they've started playing. Saving primogems takes so long, and sometimes the characters aren't even guaranteed, if the game devs don't raise the world building and difficulty in game play, some people may even regret investing all that money ($1000's), balancing that while also not alienating players who are free to play, they may be choosing to tilt the scales towards their bag 💰

Venti was my first 5 star..... got him during his Inazuma rerun sorta sad that they demoted Venti, and made Kazuha the anemo archon later..... still feel Venti is good.... just a more neish now, hopefully there will be another character coming out soon that brings Venti back into the spotlight, as my Venti is 2 crowned, and has a good artifact set

Genuinly, they should not have nerfed Venti that much. Considering he's literally the anemo ARCHON, he should be built stronger than most or even all anemo characters. It's like how Nahida makes a great hyperbloom team, or Zhongli's shields, etc. The other archons all have some value that puts them slightly above the other characters in their element. Instead, Venti is somewhat overshadowed by those in his element, despite being the anemo archon.

i think its worth noting that back then both childe and xiao in 1.1 and 1.2 were basically made to NOT synergize with venti which is pretty insane as they would otherwise be literally perfect pairings
