1985 I WAS 35 FRESH OUT THE ARMY IN 1982, WORKING FOR A TELEVISION RESEARCH FIRM. HITTING THE DANCE FLOOR AT THE MAIN EVENT IN NORFOLK VIRGINIA, HANGING OUT ON THE BEACH IN OCEAN VIEW. BACK THEN IT WAS ALL ABOUT THE MUSIC, THE PARTY, THE WEED, HAVING A GOOD TIME. THERE WAS ALOT OF GREAT MEMORIES & MUSIC, BUT TOTAL CONTRAST CAUGHT MY EAR EARLY, STILL HAVE THE ALBUM & CASSETTE TAPE TO THIS DAY. I LOVED THEIR STYLE & SOUND, SUNSHINE WAS SMOOTH & CLASSY, WHAT CHA GONNA DO ABOUT IT & TAKES A LITTLE TIME TO GET IT RIGHT WAS TIGHT. An iconic 80s track full of punch. Hit & Run is my favourite, which amazingly failed to get into the UK top 40 and nowhere in the States. Total Contrast were a highly underrated British band of the time. They deserved much more recognition. Lots of bands of the past fall into this category unfortunately.
