I have the lews Mach smash and I have the bearing up grade kit, and this is the only video I can find with a lews reel. Will it be the same process for the smash?

I tear down all my reels in the winter. This is an easy job to do. 25$ for the bearings isn’t bad for a reel that has been used for a long time. Bring some life back into it for sure

just about every bass reel uses a 10 mm nut on the handle. it's a handy wrench to keep on your work bench.

for the bearings on the sideplate and under the spool tension knob, I put the tweezers on the inside of the bearing, and the outward force creates enough tension to lift the bearing out, if it doesn't come out with a couple of taps.

Yeah I helped my buddy with one of his 13 fishing reels the other day and had to do something similar. Those little mugs did not want to come out.

Alex Rudd Fishing yea that would show more of the difference. Instead of doing on the water why don't you get one stock reel and one with the upgrade, and go to a football field and do different camera angles with both reels cast down field with one of the frogs and do a cast distance comparison. Kind of like in golf with a drive comparison. Just a thought.

If they are ceramic bearings Alex oil will slow them down to like steel bearings I switched all my lews out to Hawgtech bearings and handles and love them. Another great video Alex keep them coming.

Definitely a difference in the longevity of spool spin but i noticed quite a bit of difference in the sound as the spool spins. Have you tried any other bearing companies to see if the sound is consiatant with all after market bearings? Just curious as I am looking to upgrade one of my Revo's

bassinthegrass Scott told me it's where the seals aren't on the bearings its a little more noise but better performance. I've had boccas in serveral reels and they don't perform anywhere as well as these.

Does your drag click when you pull line out??? I have a 2018 BB1 Pro and it literally clicks when you pull drag. Just want to know if I am crazy or not.

Alex Rudd Fishing UPDATE! Called Lew's, like you said, about the reel and was told by a service rep that an audible drag click has been added to the 2018 BB1 Pro and that the noise my drag makes is nothing to be worried about.

Spooling my BB1 with a 10XD and 12lb line then cranking that bad boy all day does though. These bearings blow the other brands I've tried out of the water.
