Atilla is one of hardest campaigns out there in total war but once u understand the game mechanics and how to play faction to their strengths then its actually quite. I ended completing a grand campaign on legendary and got the achievement cesar reborn.

Attila was a great game one of the best of Total War if not the best. Playing as Western Rome was brutal but there is a trick… burn everything and go back to Rome. I abandoned almost every settlement in Gaul, Britain, Germany, and most of Spain. I went back all the way to the borders of the second Punic war. I went back to Pegan worshiping and dealt with the rebels, manage to get my enemy back in place and then started to expand and reconquer all the lost territory with a strong economy, strong religion and strong military. It was a pain in the ass for after nearly 30-50 turns I was able to get back into my old territory and expand even more, destroying all barbarian factions on the way and eventually took out Attila. I ended my campaign by taking Constantinople and making all of Africa my subjects.

I still have nightmares from the time i did a world conquest as WRE and ERE on Legendary. WRE was super hard and only by doing the destroy all buildings(i kept the churches for larp) i managed to succeed. While the ERE was much easier with the interest mechanic but caused me to bankrupt when it overflowed and i lost all my money :( Sad times...

I have 2,540.9 hours I have played the Western and Eastern a few times,I have done the Majorian mod,Justinian mod, Dark Ages 634 Fire & Swords mod and now the Medieval 1212 mod. All Legendary. it is a challenging experience and can lead to disaster, if you don't know what you are doing.
