As a person who was in the army, parade marching sucks. I really missed the tactic in total war. Warhammer while amazing lacked in terms of tactical combat. I also don't understand why you have problems with the combat, it looks great as usual. I know in your review you said it wasn't because of warhammer but it has to be. Oh I really didn't like your review.

Zh is pronounced 'j' . C is pronounced like 'ts' in cats. So cai is tsai. 'u' is sometimes pronounced like 'oo' in goo so Guan yu is Guan 'yoo'

Tthat was fun. Really looking forward to this playthrough. For me personally, speed and number of battles in this episode was about perfect. I also watched your Review, and you can put me in the category of those who don't quite get your complaints about armies and battles. This all looked great, the retinue system as well. I usually auto-resolve battles when my estimated casulties are 'low'. If the predicted death toll is higher, let's say 'medium', I play the battles myself. That's my rule as well as when we do a multiplayer campaign.

Since you're asking, not that it bothers me that much.... Shi yi => only the i in yi sound like 'ee', the one in Shi sounds somewhat like the i in 'bird'. Example : Second syllable at 4:15 Same for all of those : Shi/Si, Zhi/Zi, Chi/Ci, Ri That's why "zi" in "Sun Zi" or "Lao Zi" is often written "Tsu" or "Tse" in English, or even Tseu in French.

The key to early Kong Rong is you have to grab land before Liu Bei while still remaining friends. You have to stear him away from going east. One you have the entire peninsula and the trade port to the north that's when you go tall.

I'll admit I was never a big Total War person, it took Total War Warhammer to hook me (often an IP I enjoy + a franchise or genre I'm not a fan of is my infection vector). As such I think I'm going to be purely playing in Romance Mode due to how Warhammer feels and also to evoke as much of 10-20yo me playing Dynasty Warriors as I can. Would LOVE to see a romance mode Let's Play from you as well but to each their own :)

I love your videos! I'm a little bit worried though that this format won't be here in a while because a lot of people don't have the time to sit through an hour-long episode. I would recommend you trying to cut them down a bit or at least cut uninteresting parts were you just have to wait or grind. In my opinion, this will make your videos more accessible to new viewers and it also plays into the role of the longevity of your series. Love your videos and the quality though! Keep up the great work! You have a great talent of engaging with your community so you feel very personal and down to earth to the average viewer! Honestly, stumbling on this was such a nice surprise! I love just about everything about this episode. Playing tall with Kong Rong is so different compared to, well, pretty much anything else. And thanks to 3K new diplomacy systems, it might actually be on par with any other approach. Only leaving the narrator on english is in my opinion the best compromise for this kind of a geme you can do. And I actually enjoyed your explanations of things big and small, which has not happened with many other 3K LP's I've seen so far. The only big gripe I have is with the Records Mode. I understand that for someone who comes from the Historical Total War background Records may be preferable, but for me... it breaks too much of how the game is set up. Like, for example, the whole system of acquiring weapons, armor, horses, etc. and equipping your character with them. That system plays so much into the Romance Mode with dueling and making those characters the center-piece of the army, bigger than life, legendary, that replacing them with a bodyguard unit... just feels pointless. Or thinking about how the stats of your characters affect those bodyguard units on the battlefield, or how is it that a strategist character that is supposed to be all about ranged units and siege machines suddenly is adept at commanding a cavalry unit as well. Maybe it's because I personally lost my enthusiasm for the Historical Total War games a long time ago and what invigorated it was Warhammer 1, with all of its high fantasy and weighty, clashing, earth-shaking combat. Maybe, it's because that is how I see 3K too: an adaptation of high fantasy of a different kind, which it really is. Anyways, I wouldn't want to gripe on how you choose to play the game since it's more of my personal preference rather than any real constructive criticism. So I'll just settle on saying, great job with this LP, the structure and tone and editing, things like that and I will keep watching. Cheers!

I'm more interested in playing Romance mode, so it's actually really nice to see some Records mode. I do hope there's an option to use the higher unit fatigue in Romance mode, since that's something I like to worry aboot. Kinda like how you can mix and match the colour palette. Also the English advisor and Mandarin character voices is probably exactly how I'll play it, cool to see that's an option.

I finished a campaign as Cao Cao and I couldn't help notice that almost all of his family are either green or yellow cards, and I really don't like yellow units (melee cavalry), so when I next play as Kong Rong I think I'm going to just force every yellow card character to have a political post and be assigned to commanderies. The only real combo you need for covering all weaknesses is red+green+blue, you have ranged with spear defenders and shock cavalry to micro manage for either giving chase, hitting undefended enemy ranged or easy flanks. Purple card units are cool too and I like the hero abilities and passives, but they're not necessary.

since you're asking for feedback one of the thing I'd like to see is you explaining your thought process in recruitment and building choices in details, like you said in your review the units are a bit hard to distinguish so I'd like to understand why you choose X instead of Y
