Thrones of Deacy the upcoming DLC for Total War: Warhammer 3 is almost here and I have been granted early access to the FLC portion which is Epidemius the Tallyman of Nurgle. He's like a Nurgle Carol Vordaman, loves maths, and plague! (probably) so lets take Epidemius, AND the new Nurgle mechanics out for a spin in part 1 of a brand new Immortal Empires Campaign as Epidemius and the Tallyman of Pestilence in Total War: Warhammer 3 Thrones of Decay!

honestly, as weak as Daniel himself is, along with their lack of technologies meaning that his faction just doesn't really improve over time, he can be pretty nasty in the early game since his roster has benefitted quite a lot from the DLCs game 3 has gotten since launch. he's an absolute joke past the very early game but he has the potential to be a nasty 1st opponent. Malus on the other side is definitely the bigger threat though. also, if you get rid of Daniel too early you're stuck with Boris and if you get past Boris then you have to deal with Archaon and if you get past him, then it's Tamurkhan, then Kholek, then Zhatan, then Villitch, then Miao Ying. it's basically 1 decently powerful enemy per province all the way to the eastern edge of the map.

Maybe you already know this, but apparently you can speed up the cycle of military buildings using Infections. So while it would normally take a long time, you could potentially speed it up quite a bit.

So far I’ve been declaring war on Ted and fighting him before he captures any of the Tzeentch settlements. Boris Ursus declares war later and beelines past Ted right for my capital if I don’t do this and attack Boris first with a beefed up Epidemius.

Well, according to the stories AFAIK, the Chaos comes from the North so...but some way to choose where you start would help quite a bit making it more enjoyable.

@AncientStranger yeah it is typically from the north, but some factions have emerged from elsewhere, and there are the southern chaos wastes, too. Other locations saturated in the power of the warp can also be the basis of an incursion, so I'm sure they could make arguments for a lot of options

@Doombot221 weren't the southern wastes more ment for other Chaos factions, like Black Dwarves, Orcs, Skaven, Undead, etc? The four main Chaos were in the north (to be conquered and created into one big attack on the south) But again, there are ways to circumvent this, it's whatever we want it to be (that's the beauty of it) Options would be so nice. Like traditional startpoint, random or by choice. In the end, you'll be fighting everything anyway (as is one of the sad things of the current diplomacy of the game, as MA keeps reminding us)

I kinda don't like how heroes are tied to defense buildings now. I get why, nurgle being defensive or whatever, but that's a lot of building slots being consumed by pretty worthless structures once the front moves forward. Unless the skaven undercity building does something more impressive now for nurgle specifically

its possible that malus is parking armies near your settlements to keep them safer seeing as they can reinforce each other if attacked if you are fighting the same enemy. ive noticed this behavior for high elves as well. id be more worried if they were skaven since treaties are meaningless and getting backstabbed by a skaven is just a normal tuesday but for elves, as long as malus remains happy with you, i wouldnt be too worried!

So..they made it take even longer to get great unclean ones...why? They literally just needed to make the buildings a bit cheaper and make the starting money from those buildings a lil better. Add the couple extra units per cycle, and they would have been golden 😅why do they make it so much harder than it needs to be. I feel like with nurgle they keep being scared of making him too decent, and end up making him more annoying to play instead.

By the time you can get GUOs you should have infections out of the wazoo... which is unpleasant but should help speed the cycle up

It sucks that Warhammer 3 is (currently) considered the epitome of fantasy RTS and that the game cycle is about over. I HIGHLY doubt there will be any new races, if so, then MAYBE one or two max. I also think there will only be 2-3 more faction DLCs spanning over rest of 2024 and 2025 then onto their next title. Thoughts? Will CA//Game Workshop allow Warhammer 3 to continue be given updates as a longevity style game? If not, what do you think will be next for the Total War series? Maybe a Rome 3?

I don't get why they can't have "God's favor" instead of gold that's what demons really do care, that's what they covet and aspire to, their god's approval not shiny trinkets. Think about it: Nurgle don't like gold, gold don't rust. Khorne cares about slaughter not wealth. Tzeench has no use for gold they care about knowledge and sorcery. Slaanesh certainly would wear gold blingblongs but it's really about perfection, beauty, excess and sensation so in the end its about wearing sth shiny and colorful not really about sth made of gold.
