Love that Kitchen and the 4-seat table. Everything within a couple of steps. The covered porch would be my go-to place. I’d never see windows broken up into six lights above and clear below. Brings the outside in. Nice.

This is perfect for my vacation home on my little lake. I would live on that 3 season porch with the fireplace. The bedroom would have a great view of the lake.

This house has many features that I like, but there are a few of things I'd want changed. I'd remove the grease-catching stone edifice at the kitchen stove, and I'd change the sight lines for the bathroom - perhaps stagger the doors a bit. With a fireplace outside, I'd forego the one inside. The only place to serve your guests is at an extension of the kitchen counter. It's made to look different, but it is what it is. Although there are two exits, neither is into the back yard. These are all details that could be altered easily; the overall plan is a good one.

I would add: - make the ceilings 10ft with 8ft doors (feels better in small spaces) - make the living room 2-3 feet bigger on each side - make the entrance slightly bigger - add an office nook off the back by the laundry - add some sky lights to the porch for more natural light Great house design. Right, the whole purpose is to downsize and live in a much smaller space, like when you retire. You don’t want to have to clean a big space and the “cabin” is meant for just one or two people, thus the word cabin. It’s not meant for entertaining. I live alone and have no children or grandchildren so this space is perfect and there is a extra bedroom for my bestie.

Love the cabin! It may have just become my new dream. The rustic craftsman style - swoon! The interplay of indoor and outdoor spaces - lovely! The video itself is very well done, with good pacing, and the music selection is absolutely perfect! There is one big change that is very much needed - the living room really needs to be larger. My thought is to shrink the porch and expand the living room, by moving the fireplace wall outward. (Were you thinking that it would be cool to have indoor and outdoor living areas equally sized? I get it, but because the indoor living room is serving as circulation for the whole house and that takes up its space, it has very little space left for seating. The indoor living room thus needs that extra gross area if you want the indoor and outdoor seating areas to be equivalent.) There are some other, more minor changes I'd make, such as a having table instead of the lower level of the kitchen penninsula. Overall, though, this house is a favorite now!

I like it but the living room is just a bit too small. I’ll pull the wall,out about 5 or 8 more feet into where the porch is. The porch is huge anyways and it will still be good sized. I’d change a few decors things like tile on some of the kitchen instead of 3 kinds of stone and I’d redo the bathroom with a small sink and have a really big luxurious shower with all glass door and so where add in more bathroom storage maybe a big round mirror but with a cabinet behind it built into the wall and it sticks out of the wall a inch or 2 at most with some nice lighting around the mirror or above it or built into the mirror. Love that 1st bedroom too. I love the windows and the shelving around it. Wish I could build it!

I like the window seat in the bedroom. I wonder why there are mixed roofs, on shingle and one appears to be metal? I am not a fan of the extended table attached to the kitchen counter. It seems to occupy a lot of space in the room. I also question the continued use of bathtubs in smaller houses. We don’t use our tub. It would make the bathroom feel more spacious and practical to have a walk-in shower.

Love the spacious master bedroom. Love the laundry room and little half bath. Not crazy about the two fireplaces ( draws on the electric bill).. Outdoor seating is nice...but I would prefer more space be dedicated to the indoor living room. I maybe old fashion but I seriously dislike whatever that table is. I'd prefer a regular oval table with 4 to 6 chairs...Have always thought a separate dining was a waist of redundant space...meaning a kitchen table plus dining room..( which I know isn't here)

Nice 2 BR, 1.5 bath 1419 sq ft home with an open floor plan I love! It was going to my “save” video for a possible future 2nd look until I realized that the only 2 points of egress were both located in the living room. Please consider a redo on this one adding a covered deck to each of the bedrooms with a single door in one or both of the rooms. For now, it’s unlikely I would build this as it is. Truthfully, I would prefer a rear door as well for grilling outdoors, but this home couldn’t accommodate that. Maybe I could grill on the side deck?
