Emma: "Don't ever let somebody tell you... You can't do something. Not even me. All right? All right. You got a dream... You gotta protect it. People can't do somethin' themselves, they wanna tell you you can't do it. If you want somethin', go get it. Period." - Will Smith, The Pursuit of Happiness.

I'm not, though I do think women should be paid the same as men. And the British Prime Minister is a woman. Also the Queen is the head of the British Royal family. Actually as a man I would appreciate it if woman cut me a bit of slack, afterall its not my fault the Worlds the way it is. It would suit me fine if women were in charge, than I would not have to die in some pointless war caused by men.

On the top 100 grossing films of 2018, women represented: 4% of directors. 15% of writers. 3% of cinematographers. 18% of producers. I would like to see much more even numbers in all of these counts. You can see wonderful fruits from female directors, and it would be nice to see more as well as screenwriters and cinematographers. Producers of course would be good too. In affliction and isolation of slander I have spoken outside my character in my defense as of late, yet my usual is that anything sexual between a man and a woman should be kept so, between the man and the woman. Details are nobody's business. I've heard women speak alot more about details then men on average however.

HE FOR SHE is the most unique feminist movement ever took place if you look with my point of view. We do know that a hundreds of movements based on gender equality must have took place in this entire world, but all of'em shows an anti-men kind of ideology, now, HE FOR SHE's unique, cause before anything else, it strives to say via their ideology that 'GENDER EQUALITY is a HUMAN FIGHT, not a FEMALE FIGHT'. Where they wanna say that to achieve the real Gender Equality we shouldn't have to fight with each other, but we should've to fight for each other, and we should also remember that this fight is not against the humans, but it is agianst the superstitious thoughts of humans which leads to gender inequality. I support and respect Emma Watson and her movement against gender inequality and I pray that her dream will come true. This fight is of ours too, So I request everyone who will read this comment to please please please commit for the HE FOR SHE movement.

As a female director, I can see why less women get big movie gigs. It’s because lots of men are in the industry already, and a lot of them find it easier to create friendships or industry relationships with other men. I remember never being approached by a guy to partner up for a film project for school, I was only ever paired with other women (who were phenomenal). I remember there was a group of boys who got together to do this film project outside of school in one of my classes. It was basically all the boys in that class, all the women were not invited. It clearly wasn’t malicious, they just weren’t as comfortable including us. We were all still young in the program at that point and didn’t really know each other too well. Our teacher also rarely put two people of opposite gender in a team- I actually can’t remember one example of it. Again- not sure if it was intentional, may not have been. She might have thought it’d be easier for us to meet up? Idk. But as a director, I always tried to get a broad spectrum of actors and crew who were from all different walks of life, and different genders.

Similarities between Feminism and Humanism: 1. **Focus on Equality:** Both feminism and humanism advocate for equality among individuals, emphasizing the importance of treating everyone with fairness and respect regardless of gender. 2. **Addressing Social Issues:** Feminism and humanism are concerned with addressing societal issues related to discrimination, inequality, and injustice. They aim to challenge and overcome social structures that perpetuate unfair treatment. 3. **Advocacy for Human Rights:** Both movements are rooted in the promotion of human rights. They seek to ensure that all individuals have equal opportunities, rights, and freedoms, irrespective of gender or other factors. 4. **Critical Thinking:** Feminism and humanism encourage critical thinking and a questioning of societal norms and expectations. They both challenge traditional views that may contribute to discrimination or limit individual potential. 5. **Intersectionality:** Both movements recognize the importance of considering intersecting factors, such as race, class, and sexuality, in understanding and addressing issues of inequality. They aim for inclusivity and addressing multiple forms of discrimination. Differences between Feminism and Humanism: 1. **Focus on Gender:** Feminism specifically centers on issues related to gender, advocating for the rights and equality of women. Humanism, while also concerned with gender equality, has a broader focus on human rights in general. 2. **Historical Context:** Feminism emerged primarily in response to historical and contemporary challenges faced by women. Humanism, in a broader sense, has historical roots in philosophical and ethical movements that emphasize the value of human beings. 3. **Terminology:** Feminism uses gender-specific terms, focusing on issues related to women's rights. Humanism uses gender-neutral language and addresses issues concerning all humans. 4. **Critique of Patriarchy:** Feminism often explicitly critiques patriarchal structures and norms that perpetuate gender inequality. While humanism may address these issues, it does so within a broader context of human rights and ethics. 5. **Inclusivity:** Humanism may be seen as more inclusive in its terminology, encompassing concerns for all humans, regardless of gender. Feminism, while advocating for gender equality, may be perceived by some as more gender-specific in its terminology and focus.

SO I have nothing against Emma, Rowling or Radcliffe etc, but just have a very INTERESTING anecdote about how pervasive and huge an indent it has made in our culture. I'm now 37 years old and from London. I haven't read the books or seen any of the movies. When I was around 30-35 years of age, I went on a lot of Tinder and Hinge dates and EVERY time, without fail, I was asked by the woman 'Are you a Harry Potter fan'? (they invariably were - read the books, bought the t-shirt, dyed-in-the-wool take a bullet for Harry' fans). And always within the first 30 minutes of the date, like it was an elephant in the room waiting to broached. There was NOT ONE DATE where it wasn't mentioned. I should state there was nothing mentioned about Potter in my profile at all - I am not a fan, nor do I hate it - just indifferent, never cared to read one. Nor do I look like any member of the cast, no more than anyone else. And we're talking about approximately 45-50 dates in total over 5 years. I started to keep a mental tally because it was just becoming too ridiculous. I thought there was one who was NOT going to mention it, as the date was wrapping up, and went very well. And technically she didn't - but the next morning, as I was coming to, I noticed she had since slipped into casual wear, and was - I shit thee not - wearing a Harry Potter t-shirt (which she was very becoming on her it must be said), she gave me a cup of tea in a Potter mug, and her bookshelves were lined with Potter. Swear down. True story. Props to Radcliffe, Rowling et al. You guys basically invented a religion. You don't need my help lol.

I haven't been following the HeForShe campaign and I decided to watch this vid and find out what's it really about and its been eye opening. I found it interesting that women themselves have a problem with the word feminism because it's associated with man hate. I was shocked to hear that Emma had been threatened after her UN speech, It seems crazy to me that someone thought yea that's a good idea.I have a few questions for anyone to answer, why haven't women been pulling together in the movie business to get themselves into higher jobs or is it that there's not enough women there to do that and they cant afford to because they answer to men? what aren't women telling their own stories? Do you think with Germany having a female Prime Minister and the USA coming close to having a female President that that will make a difference to women? what would the response be if a man opens up and says ' I think I have the attitude I'm man this doesn't really affect me but I still support it' ? And one last thing, you can buy me dinner if I can buy you dinner. Good luck to you :)
