I thought the same exact thing about Jiren. How just a couple of panels made him infinity more interesting and complex than all the episodes of the show. Especially how he refused to participate if it would lead to another universe being destroyed, and giving him a secret motive based on the wish. I mean if we want to be nitpicking assholes, technically neither fusion has won a fight. Janemba is not canon, so it didn't happen, and despite Gogeta being superior to Broly and the implication that he would have killed Broly, the fight was stopped by Cheelai, meaning Broly wasn't "defeated", he didn't even faint, he was perfectly fine back on Vampa without even the need to heal. Gogeta "was beating/was going to beat" Broly, but technically he did not actually beat Broly.

FMA: Brotherhood got away with being made because it was a wildly different story from the 2003 spin-off that was based off of Arakawa's then incomplete manga.

Honestly looking back to this video you should've mentioned the fight between Super Saiyan God Vegeta vs Super Saiyan Rose Black, i think what Vegeta had done to get a step ahead in beating black was a very tactical way instead of just obtaining a new form, it makes Vegeta look like a total badass and Goku even recognizes the amount of hard work he must have put in to master this technique.

@Trex 2402 they are very different circumstances. Ki and godly powers are distinctly different within the series and goku has always had innate ki control. Hakai on the other hand has been established as a power of the gods of destruction. Destruction gods destroy while the kai's create. Goku, who is not a god of destruction candidate, should not have access to a power exclusive to a god of destruction. Future trunks can get away with healing powers because it was established that is a skill bestowed upon kai attendants. Goku, who has no relation to the title for god of destruction, should not be able pull out one of their powers out of nowhere without any sort of clear establishment or reason. That is just bad writing. That would be like saying goku can create planets because he was around when king kai off screen restored his planet and watched it happen or could create dragonballs if he sat down and asked dende to create a set while he watches.

While roshi put out the fires of flame mountain and blew up the moon with his first couple on screen kamehamehas goku blew up a car and drilled a bat sized hole in a stone wall. And aside from that goku has had training in ki control. Ki naturally grows as you train your body in the dragon ball universe and goku was shown using ki in the very first chapter when bulma's gun didn't kill him. What started as a throwaway joke was later explained in outside materials as martial artists using a thin layer of ki to protect themselves. Being a saiyan he was already uniquely gifted in ki control and his training with grandpa gohan honed his ki so, while still unearned, it makes more narrative sense that goku can pull off a kamehameha on sight. But hakai isn't ki. It's not something anyone can access and is not a power that can be utilized by manipulating ki. It is a power unique to gods of destruction and should not be imitated. Freeza utilizing hakai in the anime made sense because it wasn't him mimicking the power. The rat god (quilla? I forget his name) bestowed hakai on a minion and when it was used on freeza he was able to manipulate it and turn it around on goku. It was not a power freeza used himself or came from him but was instead a power gifted from a god for a 1 time use that freeza was able to use to his advantage. When you say something like "its because hes the main character" its waving away bad writing. If goku were to defeat vegeta, beerus, freeza, jiren, broly, whis, and the grand priest at the same time in his base form in the next chapter would you just accept it "because he's the main character"? Him using hakai breaks the continuity and rules established prior by the same author and makes no narrative sense, especially as it is still never explained or used again. It would be like if he started casually stopping time in fights because hit used it on him once. It's not like dragon ball has ever had the best or most complex writing but there is either an explanation or retcon for nearly everything within the story so that it would make sense within the universe. Goku using hakai has been given neither of those things. It's never been explained. It's never been retconned into making sense. And its never been referenced or used again even though a power like that would have trivialized moro and saved countless lives in the newest arc.

Not entirely true. The first Fullmetal Alchemist anime spent Episodes 1-12 rearranging events from the early manga chapters before introducing plot threads in 13 (the Fuhrer's secretary looks oddly familiar to...) that dragged their story further and further away from the manga before finally making a clean break in Episode 34 (the main villain is revealed to be an entirely different character). Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood struggled with pacing when readapting those same chapters because the showrunners were worried that people would get bored since "they'd seen it already" and decided to temporarily sacrifice good storytelling so they could get it all out of the way as quickly as possible.

The Manga and the Anime are best taken as companion pieces in my opinion. Taken together, the anime and manga are pretty satisfying and help to account for each other's flaws to a degree. Taken on their own, both are enjoyable in their own right but have plot holes and are lacking in various places. For example, if you look at the Goku Black arc from the manga without ANY context from the anime, there are some awesome moments like the expanded backstory of how Supreme Kai died and Trunks got SS2, but other elements of the arc definitely suffer. Goku Black and Zamasu are much less interesting since you get very little times with their characters, and you miss out on some compelling anime only moments like Goku's reaction to hearing how Zamasu killed his family while in his body. The manga's fights are gritty and brutal in all the right ways, but the anime also had some spectacular moments like the Father/Son Galick Gun. The manga has ridiculous moments like Goku knowing the Hakai, and the anime has stupid plot points like Trunks learning the Mafuba from a video in 5 minutes. Neither one is perfect and both have their standout moments, so rather than hating one while fanboying the other I think it's best to enjoy the manga and anime together, and acknowledge their good and bad points equally and fairly. I also don't really get why people say the manga makes so much more sense than the anime when the manga has its fair share of questionable moments too. Goku knowing the Hakai, Vegeta getting Super Saiyan God out of nowhere, and Goku being able to match the power of a Potara fusion are a few examples. The anime is full of bullshit moments, but I feel we should be equally critical of the anime and the manga when they make missteps. Yet it seems like people give the Manga a pass while harping on the Anime's bullshit moments much more. The manga is pretty cohesive but it's definitely not perfect.

Another thing that i like more in the manga, os that Black doesn't get that strong that early, and that ué boosts his power using the fact that every time saiyans are almost dying and they recover from the battle, they get stronger, then in vegeta vs black first round, Black gets beaten up by vegeta and zamasu heals him, making him stronger, and then stabs him and heals him again to make him even stronger than before, i think that's way better than the anime

Gotta be honest. I kinda prefer the manga’s version of the story most of the time. Especially where Goku is concerned. In the anime, Goku physically hurt me so many times with how he was obsessed with fighting. In the manga it comes off way less obnoxious and instead of wanting to slam my head into the wall, I only felt the urge to roll my eyes most of the time. Though...I did miss the confrontation between Goku & Goku Black when GB told Goku he killed Chi-Chi & Goten using his body & powers. That was a pretty great moment in the anime.

My problem with the manga's Goku vs Hit fight is that it completely ruins Hit. In the anime he's is on par with Goku, giving Goku an actual rival in universe 6. But in the manga they basically say: "Goku is too strong for Hit's best tecniche." The anime at least Goku an equal, rather than the manga that shows Universe 6 as complete losers. And with the Beerus killing Zamas, I think the anime is better because of its fake out. For a moment it looks that Goku will fight Zamas, but then Beerus stops him, basically saying: "No more playing around"

Since when Dragon Ball has cared about consistency? . The main theme in Dragon Ball has always been that there is always someone stronger. The manga didn't do that with Universe 6. The anime shows Hit as an absolute badass capable of learning and keep up with a Super Saiyajin Blue. Without that, the Universe 6 has no high level fighters. And take a look at what the manga's consistency did in the Future Trunks Arc. Since Black and Zamas where to strong, it wouldn't be consistent for Trunks to be able of keeping up to the fight, so he only served as a distraction and as the healer. Sure, because that is exactly what we want from Trunks, IN HIS OWN ARC! The Super Saiyajin Rage from the anime doesn't makes sense, but at least allows one of the best characters in Dragon Ball to put up a good fight. Is his arc, so it makes sense he is the one who fights. Dragon Ball is never been about consistency. That is why we fans say: Power levels are bullshit !!!!!

Toppo in the manga not just had strategy, he telegraphed Goku's punch, which in terms of power level and speed, he's not that much slower otherwise how would have have countered so effectively. besides Goku doesn't use kaioken blue in the manga which meant he was at full power when delivering that punch

I love both the anime and manga. Each one of them have their moments, but I love the manga a little better. Everyone wants things to make sense when it comes to the story. I love that explanations have been made in the manga and much more realism has been added. I love seeing Super Saiyan God has been added more in the story and used as a skill and strategy such as Vegeta vs Goku Black fight scene too. I love that Supreme Kai is a courageous character too. He's become amazing and more willful even against Zamasu. Fused Zamasu is also a much more frightening villain in the manga than in the anime. He was waaaay more scary when he multiplied into an army. That arc is so awesome. It's on the edge of your seat thrilling.

Manga is better by far because it makes WAY more sense than the anime. It doesn’t have Trunks go from SS2 to SSB level channeling a weak Spirit Bomb into a sword and defeating Zamasu. It barely has any BS if I’m completely honest. It also has better art and battle choreography than Super by far. I also like Mastered SSB rather than pulling Kaioken out of nowhere imo. There’s a lot of thought put into the manga rather than what Super gives. And I’m not saying the anime is garbage, it has amazing moments, but I look forward to the manga more than the anime at this point.

Asuras, I'm going to be honest here, I felt ssj blue kaioken is a cooler concept of ssj blue then mssj blue was. Having mssj blue is literally having ssj blue as a ssj with larger stamina drain, I felt kaioken was much more appealing, intimidating and cooler. Though mssj blue is totally good with me, don't get me wrong. The only problem is the anime is a kids show so they spammed kaioken blue over and over so it just that appeal it once had.

No, SSJ2 can be trained and mastered just like any other form. Same reason Enraged SSJ2 Vegeta surpassed SSJ3 Goku after Bulma got slapped and why SSJ2 Future Trunks powered up equal to SSJ3 Goku.
