Rumor goes that Tabled drove outside the city and dumped the die into a lake. And when he came home, it was again sitting menacingly on his table

I threw this dice into my fireplace, only to find that the dice engulfed the flames and grew stronger, it now has teeth.

Watching this after having seen the entire playthrough is hilarious. I have a sneaking suspicion that the 1s and 2s are in cahoots with the grays and greens that you also kept drawing from the colors deck!
@TotallyTabled2 жыл бұрын
Ha, thanks Sheldon. That color deck was annoying. I was hoping to show off the full extent of the encounters, but it was not to be. For some reason I'm my mind I remembered rolling a bunch of ones but when making this video I realized it was really a bunch of twos and one really bad one. 😂 Thank you so much for watching the series!

Ya, I just don't get along w/ games where so much rides on the roll of a die but as usual you do an absolute stellar job of presenting these games, seriously no one does it better! Thank you for your efforts!

Thanks so much Andrew! This game definitely has a dice forward design that is not for everyone. But strategy and decisions do matter in the end. The game evokes a feeling of powerlessness and dread and the dice play a large role in pulling that off. I'm glad you enjoyed the watching the ride! Thanks for all the support.

This die makes XCOM rng feels too forgiving. And I thought the PC version was touch...I now have to get this game and punish myself all over again. Thanks for the amazing solo playthroughs !

Ha, yeah, the rolls probably even out but it really feels like the bad rolls come at the worst times. I'm happy to hear you enjoy the playthoughs. Thanks for supporting the channel!

Based on a true story... My fiancée said to me yesterday while playing: "Surrender and give up all your findings. You can't win against that die. And that's what you would do in reality anyway..." 🤣

🤣 If I played survival games based on what I would do in real life, I would lose quicker than I already do. My playthroughs could be posted on KZbin Shorts. 😃 Thanks for watching, Michael!

Yeah one of the best parts of the playthrough was when Marco had to go out and you knew that the 10% wasn't as low as it seemed but you talked yourself into it, and then rolled the 1. It was emblematic of the entire run of how bad that cursed die was.

You know you can check the balance of a dice in water. It will quickly show if its weight is unbalanced. It could mean you have been a victim!

That's not a bad idea, but I kind of like the mystery - maybe it is haunted? That is way more fun!

😂😂😂😂😂 This die, along with the Space Hulk Death Angel die, are some of the worst. Rumor has it that a witch put a curse on them at the factory in China.

This die is only for your opponents.

That's a good idea, but I can't think of a competitive game that uses a D10. Why aren't D10s used more I wonder? Thanks for watching Dads and Dice!

Hi, Does make sense, thematically, rolling a dice? In those situations?

Sure. Why not?

If it makes you feel any better, I drew 8 Spirit A Fate cards in a row in my last game. Then, for kicks, I kept drawing randomly until I got something other than an A. That was 14 more for a total of 22 in a row. (4/7)^22 is something like 4 chances in a million. 🤣

😲. Wow. Maybe the whole game is cursed, not just the d10. Thanks for your insight, John. I've enjoyed hearing about the game from someone who knows it so well. And it is also nice to know experts still get bad luck! 😃 Thanks John!
@johnsteidl2932 жыл бұрын
Definitely not an expert here! The time you invested in making a first-class video for the rest of us to enjoy, I spent exploring the inner workings of the decision space. It's rare that a game has this much theme and story while also packing first rate mechanics that are deep enough to really pull you in. I think I've barely got a decent handle on the base game. Looking forward to playing with farmers and sewers, some of the scenarios, and eventually trying the Forlorn Hope mega-campaign.

Well, I'm impressed either way.🙂 It's funny, I don't explore games outside of a play. I never flip through cards or analyze things. So often I'll play games many times and never see things. For example, on that Robinson Crusoe playthrough, I ran into a gorilla and I'd never seen that before despite dozens of plays. I have friends who are very different and want to get a handle on the game more. This War of Mine does so many unusual things - like having events that are only backstory with no gameplay impact and huge swings of dice luck, and yet it feels like I'm making really meaningful mistakes, I mean decisions. 😃 A fascinating design. Thanks John.

For me, investigating the behind-the-scenes bits of a design are half the fun. Just goes to show how different we all are in what we like in our games!

That's definitely one of the best things about gaming. Plenty of different things for anyone to enjoy.
