To my follow knee replacement friends: I'm 70 this month I'm 6 months out from a bilateral total knee replacement. This video is exactly what I've experienced. Diminishing pain over time in the proximal (upper) tibia. It's just discomfort now and not consistent or continual. Keep walking, moving and doing your prescribed mobility excercises. Unlike when I was 35, I am pretty much constantly aware of 'feeling' in my knees. I work to not let that interfere with intentionally walking normally, meaning length of stride, foot placement, heal-toe etc. The sensation of 6 inch band around my knees and proximal tibia isn't as intense as it used to be but it is still there. It isn't pain and I'm thanking my lucky stars that my surgeon closed the capsule of my knees firmly, insuring stability as I've healed and relearned to walk, bend, play and return to yoga. (nope I'm not a yoga star but I'm increasing my whole body flexibility and lengthening the muscles I've worked to strengthen). I am not a rock star in this journey....it HURT! for longer than I wished but my cranky old arthritic kness were so painful before the surgery that I avoided walking up steps, parking more than a few feet away from store fronts, accepting invitations from family and friends that might require too much movement in my knees. I promise your journey will get better.....I promise.

I'm three and a weeks after bilateral TKR, and I've never cried as much or as often as I have in the past three and a half weeks. I'm 71 years old, and I'm at the point of thinking I will never get better, in spite of having my PT and doing my exercises regularly. I keep pulling muscles in my quads. What am I doing wrong?

I am 84 and 8 weeks out from a TKR. Still use a support on one side if outside but no pain at night. Just hurts when I bend it too far. Getting better every week though.

Hi from France to all of you. Between my PT 4 times a week plus all the exercises he's got me doing and now YOU!!! I am soooo glad to have come across you; you are a godsend. I have shown some of your exercises to my PT here and he thinks you're great and also what you're doing by sharing on the Net. I'm 5 weeks in from a PUC (uni-compartimental prosthesis) and my surgeon took out my staples after 6 days!!!! Have had a crappy first 3 weeks cos' of that and I thank the good LORD I stumbled on your website. I was so frustrated but no more!!! Thanks again and since I'm supposed to be resting in between the exercises I have time to watch ALL your videos!!

This roller is great. Anthony, would this roller take the place of your rolling pin? Seems that it should.

Tony, I can't thank you enough for your great video's concerning total knee replacement ! I'm 71 and in a month will have my total knee replacement done. I'm getting ready and have already purchased the ice roller ball and compression wrap. I do have a question on icing. I'm borrowing a ice machine wrap and wonder how long and how often after surgery should I be using it. Is there something as too much use of this type of icing? Thank you again ! Anthony
