Mundane is definitely colourfully blind…respect for his physical achievements however his mouth is not built for everyone to savour. The thing is we don’t know Ezra’s story. I know a lot of people that would take the Monkey comment on the chin and I know some that wouldn’t tolerate it because of their history of being bullied and abused. I’m not at all saying that that is what Ezra has been through but you can’t tell somebody to toughen up and harden up when you don’t know their story. I do believe there wasn’t any racism or malice intended by Leniu but rather something said in the heat of the moment to get under his skin. But I also think Mundine is being quite ignorant and insensitive towards Ezra. Comments like Monkey, coconut etc don’t belong in society, so to in the beautiful game of Rugby League.
