Y’all should collaborate with a KZbin channel called Precision Transmission! It’s a family owned business that truly deserves some love.

@@Mauivegan67 I’ve been a subscriber of their channel since nearly the beginning. It’s been cool watching their channel grow. I’ve never taken apart a transmission but for some reason it’s super cool to watch their videos. I’ve learned enough about transmissions now that I could probably rebuild one myself at this point. 😂 I’m just kidding. I would likely make a mess of it. But I think it’s important we support people like them. They are honest people that do it for more than just making money. They have actually helped needy families that didn’t have the financial ability to fix their vehicle. They do make a huge positive impact on their community and I love seeing people like that rewarded for their selfless behavior. Hope you have a great holiday weekend Lonnie. 🙏 ✌️

@Louis Edwards Good to hear someone is representing North Carolina! My dad is from there... and I always loved traveling to that state to visit family. So many beautiful areas and the people we super nice. People driving down the road all waved at each other. Lol. Maybe I should move to North Carolina. 🤔 Y’all need some shop help over there? If so... I’m on the way! Lol

@Louis Edwards It’s ok. I was only joking about the job anyway. But my dad was from more of the western side of North Carolina. Out near the mountains. They were tobacco farmers. They didn’t get electricity where they lived in til the early 1960s. They lived a simple life out there. Lol. I couldn’t imagine living without electricity. Phew.

@Louis Edwards That’s awesome! That brings back some memories. They used those old square body Chevy trucks a lot when I was a kid. My dad even had a scottsdale stepside truck that has 44” tires on it. I remember walking under it and swinging from the driveshaft when I was kid. 😂 He didn’t use that particular truck working but he had others for working on the farm. They loved those old square body Chevy trucks on those tobacco farms tho. I tried helping picking tobacco one time and it was miserable work. Under my arm pit was super sticky by the end of the day where I was holding the tobacco leaves under my arm as I walked and picked. I think I bent over about a million times that day! 😂 unfortunately my grandfather passed away and they sold the farm not long after that day. Wish it was still in the family. Anyway, great to hear some folks from NC are doing the community right. 🙏 y’all have a great Memorial Day now.

Curious why you wouldn't move the trailing arm mounts back the 5" instead of cut your arms shorter. You'd maintain a better suspension geometry through articulation.

I’ve never been disappointed or thought a show was done poorly on any episode of power nation or power block ever but this one was pretty bad. From a rushed confusing paint segment to fumbling through mock up and install of the suspension it left a lot to be desired. Definitely the least satisfying episode I’ve ever watched.

So I went to the parts list on the website and I guess off-road design made the 4link kit? But where did they get the axles from? All their kinks just send me to summit page, not to the actual item. And yes it sat a little to high for me. But looks great for a daily. (What I'm looking to build)
@jamescole6846
@jamescole6846 3 жыл бұрын
Thats about 15,000 dollars worth of axles. If not more. With the rims/tires/brakes etc.. probably 20k under that not including the 4-6K for those shocks. Go look up Dana60 axle sets. Completed ones are as high as 22K depending.

Had to search for this one. After seeing them wheel it and seeing the rear suspension damage (that they didn’t address) I can see why the axle shifted like it did. They say it’s triangulated, but the degree that the arms are mounted still requires a panhard bar (or trac bar) to keep the axle located under the truck.

Certainly made more progress than I have on the suburban on my channel. LOL it helps to have a big budget and an equipped facility. Still though, I think the only gripe I have with this build so far is that you could have done with a more durable body coating like Raptor or Line-X or something knowing that this thing is going to spend a ton of time (at least in theory) on the trails. Could have saved that sponsored flat black hotrod paint for some kind of rat rod build on one of your partner shows.

@zososldier
@zososldier 3 жыл бұрын
@@stevencarnes7790 even up to a 42 it is to tall. Putting larger tires would make it even taller Should cut the fenders and lower it a good 2-4 inches if they want it to perform. Seeing how they already cut the body up, do it right and make some up travel clearance. A 4 to maybe 6 inch lift is all you need while keeping your center of gravity low on a medium tire like a 40-42.
@wirebrush
@wirebrush 3 жыл бұрын
Yep. I was really cringing when the decided to only move the front axle 1/2 inch forward. I'd have gone 2-3" forward in order to fit those tires without the huge amount of lift. I love those skinny Boggers (I had the same on my 1 ton Blazer) but, especially aired down, they're going to make that tall rig feel really sketchy.
@zososldier
@zososldier 3 жыл бұрын
@@wirebrush yeah, I wouldn't run a suburban if one wants to legit offroad. Maybe if you bobbed the back. Most folks who run blazers or pickups will stretch the front 3-5 inches for fender clearance as you said and better approach angle. An added benefit would have been keeping the factory air box due to the shock hoops being further forward.

@@humppanen9130 no they didn’t. NASA didn’t start using metrics until the 90’s. Those astronauts drank java in cups not milliliters. It was pounds of thrust not newton meters. It was feet per second on landing not KPH. It was just the Nazi Werner Van Braun who thought in metrics.
