@@momokun90let’s be real,what the hell were the animal spirit thinking when they tried to invade gensokyo, a place that has: 2 Inmortal beings one with ability to fuck with time, and the other with fire, 2 vampires with a power comparable to a demon lord a God that used to have a collection of destructive gods, a being able to erase your existence by purifying you, and off course the gap Youkai and many more menace. I think Yuma is the only one who can compete until Flandre shows up

I do love how despite Kicchou being one hell of a manipulator and mastermind,This game shows that she's the not the only one and that there's always one someone who'll one up her. Guess that's just karma.

You've got to appreciate how she comes off in Touhou 17 as a cunning mastermind who expertly manipulates everyone in her way, but in Touhou 19 she keeps on getting losses and her plans failing over and over, like with trying to destroy the Hakurei Shrine. The theme is still great though, and Yachie is still a true girlboss.

She went from threatening to kill the protagonists in the bad endings of WBaWC to being thwarted by Aunn simply because she didn't know that Aunn had two bodies (which according to Aunn herself is an open secret). Even Saki managed to one-up her by taking out Biten just as Yachie was taking out Enoko, despite the fact that the Keiga Clan isn't known for planning ahead. Yachie may be a master manipulator, but it doesn't seem to help her when she's not the one in control of the situation. However, this version of her theme is certainly better than the old version.

I've been mentioning this in the comments but it probably has to do a lot with Reimu's power avoiding Yachie's plans to come well. Like, wathever she was trying to do was harming Reimu directly or indirectly so I don't think any of her plans could come up well. While the other families were only fighting with the others, Yachie tried to directly go for an invasion, so that's probably why she loses so bad. Basically: She was fighting with a fate-manipulator without even knowing it(Well, to be fair, even Reimu doesn't know that she can manipulate fate... and that's worse because that's exactly how her power works LOL).

@@kr3533 I have heard that Reimu's power basically lets her get out of any confrontations as long as she is unaware of them. That might also be why Tsukasa suddenly decided she couldn't assassinate Reimu.

@@Hijiri_MIRACHION You're kinda right, but it's more like "Everything will be fine for her as long as she is 100% sure it will be fine". Once(I don't remember in what manga), the 3 fairys of light tried to prank Reimu with an illusion, they basically made a whole lake completely invisible so Reimu will try to walk on it and would fall into the water. You know what happened when she tried to walk on it? Some fish started to jump at the exact time that Reimu made every step and she crossed the lake walking completely unharmed... yeah, literally nothing happened to her and she never noticed that she walked through a whole lake. Also, Marisa in some fights notice that the more effort Reimu put into winning a battle, the worse she performs, to the point that the only reason that Reimu got hit in some battles between Marisa and Reimu is because Reimu was actually trying. Another example.is her poverty lmao, no matter how.bad the situation is in the Hakurei Shrine, as she doesn't believe she is going to go through a difficult time, she just... survives and get resources in any way(? It can even appky to the incidents. She just start flying arround and she always find her objetives. Basically Reimu's power is the biggest plot armor. If she doesn't think something is actually going to happen to her, it doesn't happen, if she is not aware of something, it won't affect her, and also the less effort she put into something, the better it comes out. Think of it like Wonder of U from Jojos, you don't know how but you are 100% that it just works and that Reimu is NOT going to be harmed no matter what.

@@kr3533 Another point of evidence is that in WaHH. Kasen was able to manipulate that flaw when Reimu had a duel with Byakuren. Kasen told Reimu that she has money riding on her which meant that Reimu had more sake in the fight and lost to which Kasen relieved she had bet against Reimu.

In the original, there was a frantic piano that was constantly running through the entire theme; but now, it seems ZUN either replaced the piano with what sounds like a guitar, or he layered a guitar on the piano, which becomes really audible at 0:03-0:04, 0:07-0:08, 0:11-0:12, 0:15-0:16, you get the idea that section of the theme and everytime its repeated whatever the instrument ZUN put either on top of or replaced the piano with. Also, yes, Yachie now too continues on the legacy of badass and awesome Ten Desires bass, what more need you say now?

The synth in this one sounds rougher. Adds some really nice edge to the track. I love the original, no qualms with it really, but I will admit this is overall a step up! Sidenote: Im scared for the implications that Aunn is powerful enough to stop Yachie on her own. Doesn't Yachie have some sort of army? Not to mention she's powerful in her own right. Why the hell did she think she had to *lure* Aunn away from the shrine? How fucking poweful is Aunn????

What I'm about to say is purely speculation based on little-to-no (dubious)proof, but maybe it's not that Aunn is powerful, it's just that as a komainu, which are believed to guard shrines, her just being at the shrine doesn't allow people like Yachie to bring harm to the shrine, I imagine that's also why her charged allows her to tank bullets. Though that's just a theory, a game theory.

Lack of information. Yachie thinks she needs to distract on what would be called "Hakurei's main line of defense" and unlikely don't know how many times the shrine got... poof (but then again that happened before Aunn gaining sentience). On another, perhaps depending on the shrine/temple a komainu is likely powerful, so she is just taking extra precaution.

Aunn isn't really powerful. She's just her job as a komainu - a guardian of shrines and temples from all things evil (such as Yachie and Tsukasa. She doesn't seem to chase off the Fairies of Light, Cirno and Clownpiece though). And since komainu always come in pairs by the shrine's main entrance, even if you lure Aunn's "main body" aside, her second half will still remain at its post

I'll add on to the others a couple of other things One, I'd say it indicates Yachie's stage 4 boss status is reflective of her true battle prowess. She's not weak, but she's probably distant third in raw power compared to meathead Saki and Black Hole Yuuma. That's why she relies on subterfuge and manipulation to begin with. Second, what actually went to the shrine is probably... a bunch of Otter Spirits. Biten, the only known yacchie-aligned youkai who isn't a manipulator first and a warrior second, is out in the forest a ways, and even if she did fight 2nd aunn, to get to yacchie aunn already beat her once, and has a fresh body to go when she gets there. Otter spirits are perfect for sneaking in and wreaking havoc, and they'd be harder to track down, too. Meanwhile, Aunn's possessed by a Kuda-gitsune, which got her to yacchie, but considering Tsukasa herself is already playing all sides, I'd guess that the kuda-gitsune aren't exactly offering themselves up as warriors to actually, you know, piss off the shrine maiden. Third, the Kuda-gitsune. Trusting them will always lead to ruin, and in at least one case (UM) that's meant an ass-kicking. I wouldn't be surprised if the Kuda-gitsune actually knew that aunn had two bodies, or at least had a backup plan. But if she plays dumb, she can pipe fox up Yacchie while technically pipe foxing aunn too.

in my defense. Maybe, just maybe. Yachie is not getting used to dealing with outside of her own animal hell turf. So she maybe struggle to handle Gensokyo politics and got oof around.
