Back then when I was new I prefer the fighting games instead of the shmup main series, and if I want to look for the stories I just go read the wiki. Nowadays I have played almost all of the official game (excluding the newer ones, I have been busy recently) although I still only beaten few of them on normal.

@@Fury_Caramels you can actually get used to it after a few playthroughs! (each game is like 30min each). start on easy, try either 7, 8 or 13, and watch some easy course guides. you start to notice some patterns and it starts looking less difficult. it feels really rewarding when you improve!
