Touhou 8: Imperishable Night - Stage 6b (No Commentary)

There were five impossible requests nobody could solve.
However, long years and the power of phantasm made these requests possible...
Now for the true final stage. The stage up to Kaguya is really a more jacked up version of Stage 6a shown earlier. The opening barrage by the fairies that swoop in is the only thing you have to worry about stage wise. The swarms after that are just good for getting one last extra life.
Eirin also acts as she did in the last final stage however her cool down phase while moving faster is spread further so it's easier, but watch out for her spell card it's a lot more difficult this time around.
Kaguya is interesting...I almost want to say she's easy but that clearly isn't the case. I'd say more underwhelming would be the better way to put it. You won't feel stressed fighting her or really get that same adrenaline rush that fighting Remilia or Yuyuko prior did. After going through the effort to beat Eirin you should have no problem coming into the fight against Kaguya with an obscene amount of lives and that makes any sense of danger evaporate completely. That coupled with many of her attacks are more luck based than skill based. More often than not you would die not because you did something wrong but because her attacks set you up in a really inopportune place...but I guess they're not called the "Impossible Requests" for nothing.

OK, I won't lie. You going into Stage 6 with 7 lives and 8 bombs freaks me out a little. I can barely scrape together 5 and a bomb if I'm lucky. That's also assuming I can do Reimu without getting nailed by all that crap she throws at you.

Yeah, when I looked at what he had my eyes bulged. Excluding a "1cc" where I started with max lives, and only looking at "real" runs, the best I've had started 6B was three lives and no bombs, which became two lives and one bomb by the time I actually started her fight. I have no idea where MegamanOmega gets that delusional "After going through the effort to beat Eirin you should have no problem coming into the fight against Kaguya with an obscene amount of lives" in his description. Especially considering Eirin: a) has a practice mode, unlike Kaguya, and b) can be beaten with continues while still unlocking Kaguya.

Half past midnight has safe spots you can stay in. Unfortunately, you have to keep changing safe spots due to the large red bullets she throws at you

Kaguya is confusing for me. Sometimes I fail at her, other times I barely lose a life. Imo, she's harder than Eirin, Miko and Shiki. But not as tough as Kanako, Utsuho and Yuyuko. Her fight is very beautiful and my 2nd overall fave. She also has my 2nd fave theme and is my fave character. That be my opinion.

I usually get clipped on her 2nd revival spell. I've heard how hard Kaguya is on Lunatic too!

I'm not amazing at Kaguya, I've never perfected her (I can do her main fight quite well though). Sometimes I trip up at random places though.

Nope. You have a very split second to do it but if you're at either 80% human or youkai and press the bomb button just as you die you'll live but use up two bombs rather than one. Generally I don't because I'm not expecting to die so the hit takes me by surprise...but against Kaguya and especially those parts I was fully expecting some undodgable attack.

Omg, why is this game considered easy, I can NOT beat most of Kaguya's spells in spell card practice. Like he said, she is very lucky based. EDIT: I'm referring to normal mode.

@@longlivethe9989 You get a lot of resources but when every bomb takes two bomb tokens, you run through them fast. There isn't anywhere close to just cheese everything. It's still easier than the titanically difficult EoSD, but any Touhou game is still a very, VERY difficult game.

@@longlivethe9989 If I knew long enough it advance that I was going to get hit, to be able to have the bomb go off before the deathbomb window raised the price to 2, then I'd be able to move differently instead of bombing in the first place. Pre-emptive bombs are only good if you get trapped and walled in. For the vast majority of deaths in a typical run (like misjudging a hitbox or an odd trajectory, moving farther or not as far as you were trying to go, having your fingers hit a different key than you wanted, etc) it can only ever take two tokens. Same with particular cards like Master Spark (where the screen shaking means stars can seemingly come out of nowhere) or Visionary Tuning (where unfreezing while you're still trying to find a hole, or if you're too close to the top of the hole and can't react in time to follow it downwards when it starts moving, is instant death). Bombs that consume one token are the niche case where you can see it coming AND it's unavoidable, which is not most bombs or deaths. For example, I just did a Practice Mode run of S5. Result: six deathbombs (including one on each of Reisen's cards) and an actual death when I was out of bombs. It would have been more deaths, but I was getting unrealistic extra bombs from Tewi's 1up and point item extends (which would be lives instead of bombs in a full run). Not a single case where it was possible to bomb ahead of time.

lol that dancing also if this is your first time to 1cc after beating erin once, I know you can choose between A and B later on, but do they let you choose the first time or will they just throw you into route B like in the video if you meet all the requirements?

Yup. The first time you go through everything you automatically go to Eirin. Then after beating her you can try again and you'll get the option to go after her or Kaguya.

if you press the x key (aka bomb) right after you get hit you survive (it's called a deathbomb)
